Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara Review

Pros:

Doesn‘t give me the panda look even after a loooong day at work.

Cons:

No long lashes here.

More:

I heard about this mascara because the Danish beauty entrepreneur slash mogul Marianne Tromborg, wrote a make-up book where she claimed this is the only mascara she can use. Being a fan, I naturally wanted to try this mascara. My verdict is: that this mascara is worth its (budget) price, but it certainly doesn‘t give that “WOW” effect. It‘s a good everyday mascara: giving just the right amount of discreet volume, not giving you the panda look and you can layer it many times without your lashes lumping together. Cons are that it doesn‘t give you long lashes, and as mentioned before no dramatic effect. If I want to look discreet when I go to work I use this one, but for after-work you definitely need something more dramatic and fab…

Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara Review

eng_pl_max-factor-masterpiece-max-mascara-black-876_1

Pros:

Doesn‘t lump.

Cons:

Hard to apply on lower lashes because they just get too much mascara due to the brushes size.

More:

This is my all time favourite mascara. I have been using it for 6 months now – and yes I know, you are supposed to not use your make-up for too long due to bacteria etcetc, but I‘m soo impressed  that it hasn‘t dried out/lumped/given me panda eyes – that I‘m gone use it until there is none left. The brush is made of rubber and you get exactly the amount that you (I) need per use, and really gives some mascara love to each one of my eyelashes. My lashes are pretty long and usually when I use mascaras it usually smudges off on my eyelids and this one doesn‘t. Also after a long day I don‘t have it all over my cheeks. In my opinion this is the bust budget mascara out on the market right now, period.

Vichy Idealia Eye Contour Idealizer Review

Pros:

Really does help remove dark circles under my eyes.

Cons:

The price.

More:

I have been using my tube of this eye cream for about 2 years before I squeezed it to its end. My mama gave it to me for my birthday because at the age of 25 it was time to take care of those wrinkles-to-be around the eye area (honestly I think all of that wrinkle talk is pretty ridiculous but I‘m too scared to turn into an old orange to not obey and put cream in my face). I really like that the tube lasts for ages, which kind of makes up for its (a bit heavy) price. So does it make the circles under your eyes disappear? Yes actually it does. I have always had dark circles under my eyes, no matter how much or little I sleep, and while using this cream I have a few times caught myself thinking “actually you don‘t look that exhausted considering how little you slept”. Once I finished the package and moved on to a new cream – I really noticed the difference, my black circles came back to hunt me. This does not mean that there were no dark circles when I used this cream, cause there were – they were just a shade lighter and I didn‘t look as tired after 4 hours of sleep as I do now (when using another cream).

THE BEST AND WORST BEAUTY PRODUCTS OF 2016 – THE COMPLETE LIST

d6aa3d3610ac68e64741c200ad519a0b

Happy new year lovelies, we have made a small list of what we loved and worshipped this year:

The facial oil of this year that brought our face out of the winter darkness..

This is where we got out grapefruit fix from in 2016…

The splurge of the year – which was well worth it..

This body oil made our bathroom feel like a warm coconut beach vacation all year long

The lavender oil that puts us to bed like babies was a favourite during this sleep deprived year.

This serum made our year a biiiiit prettier

The budget product of the year was … look here.

The hair brush which became our favourite hair thing in 2016..

…but this one also did wonders to our hair.

And WHAT WE DID NOT LIKE (wasted our money on):

The powder from hell…

The face mask which did nothing of what it promised (see the full list of face masks we won‘t repurchase here).

The ecological lemongrass disappointment of 2016 goes to this shea body butter

This rose lip balm made us (and our wallet) very very sad.

The scrubb which robbed us and made no difference to out skin!

The Kiehl‘s disappointment of the year was this one.

The foundation that made us look beyond unnatural and was just not worth a penny of our hard earned salary.

Thank you for a great 2016 and we are looking forward to guide you through the beauty jungle for another marvellous year!

Maybeline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara Review

Pros:

Master of the dramatic look.

Cons:

Takes a while to dry.

More:

I‘m gone be honest I bought this one while doing my groceries because it was so cheap. Yepps people thats how I make my choices “2 liters of milk, five tomatoes and some mascara”. But actually I was pleasantly surprised, because this mascara turned out to be a master of the “dramatic look”: it makes my lashes very long,  gives great volume and doesn‘t give me that panda look. It‘s also easy to remove. What are the negatives? It takes a while to dry due to its very “liquid” consistency. Also, I was very surprised by how good it was even though being soo cheap, so I would still prefer my more “expensive” regular mascaras, because let‘s face it: I‘m a make-up snob, and like the whole experience and this mascara gives a “good enough” look but does not blow me completely away, because it could be just a bit less liquidish in consistency, dry a bit faster, give a bit more volume..you get it. End of review.

L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara Review

Pros:

Gives longer lashes.

Cons:

Doesn‘t give my lashes enough volume.

More:

I was out travelling, had forgot half of my make-up bag at home (not an excuse to buy more make-up hmm hmm promise), and since I had, had good experience with L’Oréal mascaras in the past, I thought I should give this one a shot. Verdict: the brush which is has a bent shape actually curls my lashes when I use it, it makes my lashes longer and is very easy to remove (seriously you can get wrinkles just from removing mascaras). The minuses: the consistency of the mascara is very liquid, leading to clumping of eyelashes. Another thing is that it doesn‘t give my lashes enough of volume. Basically the sum of my look when wearing it is subtle, clumped, thin long lashes also known as the spider look.

Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara Review

Pros:

Doesn‘t smudge.

Cons:

Not always giving me the “I have a thousand more lashes then I actually do” – look.

More:

Usually I just grab the mascara that is on sale and pray for the best. This time I wanted to try a newcomer just to see if maybe maybe maybe it would not smudge and give me my classical panda look (a look I cherish and often carry with pride when I bike home, after long hours in front of the computer). This mascara actually doesn‘t smudge, it gives my eye lashes a nice and “full” look, and depending on which direction you chose to use the brush you can actually make your lashes look different of the “volume – scale”, which is nice when you want to tone it down a bit. I could review this mascara on and on from different practical point of views, but I want to tell you this little story instead: I was on a weekend trip to Berlin with my girlfriends recently, and mentioned I was trying out my new mascara not yet sure what to make of it, and encouraged my friends to try it too. The next morning my girlfriend comes back to me – she has now made the ultimate test of this mascara – by sleeping in it, it didn‘t smudge and therefore she approved of it. I though that was hilarious. End of review.

Aco Protect and Restore Eye Cream Review

Pros:

Budget friendly.

Cons:

Smells neutral but with a slight hint of pharmacy.

More:

I have previously written about ACO, which is a  beauty brand you can get at the Swedish pharmacy. Being a general fan of pharmacy products, and believing that they are just a bit more trustworthy I have often turned to them for some budget friendly options when my wallet has been thin.

Using eye cream is rather new to me, since I am a bit lazy. But soon hitting my thirties I realised that I don‘t want to have wrinkles from smiling too much, around my eyes – no matter how charming they can look on other people – they are just not for me (I want to look like Sharon Stone). This eye cream is budget friendly, doesn‘t smell of anything and gets absorbed very fast. The package is hygienic since you don‘t stick your fingers into anything, and lasts for months and months. About the results – I‘m not sure you can really judge if a cream reduces you wrinkles, but to me ACO is a trustworthy company and I chose to think I have less wrinkles now – not because I smile less but because this cream is good.

Garnier Pure Active Purifying Cleansing Wipes Review

Pros:

Cheap and effective.

Cons:

Doesn‘t remove mascara soo well (I‘ve woken up with panda eyes quit a few times wondering where my hangover was to match my eyes?!).

More:

Some beauty bloggers talk about their evening take-off make-up regime like it‘s some kind of religious experience. For me it‘s just “how to I get this over with so I can dive into bed asap”. Therefore I always feel like cheating and sometimes skip the cleanser and just use the tonic (bad bad bad for you!), but I remind myself of that it‘s my duty as a beauty blogger to take good care of my skin and most day I do all my steps like a good blogger. But for those days when I cheat I love using wipes, it takes a second and voila you can run into bed. These wipes are cheap. The package is super heavy so you can‘t really bring them with you when travelling unless you have unlimited luggage. They take off most make-up well (concealer, blush, lipstick..can‘t speak of foundation since I don‘t use it), except mascara. Taking of mascara is ok for the eyes (no itching) but seriously I haven‘t gotten it all off a single time, and have woken up looking like a tired panda – not my best look. But still I like these wipes due to an ok quality considering their price.
