Kiehl’s Nourishing Olive Fruit Oil Shampoo Review

kiehls-olive-fruit-oil-nourishing-shampoo-500ml

Pros:

You can recycle the bottle at your local Kiehl‘s counter and get samples in exchange for it.

Cons:

No shine or hydration – as was promised.

More:

So usually I shop my Kiehl‘s products in the US, since the tax difference makes them pretty overprices in Europe but ok reasonable in the US. But this one I got in Europe, desperate for a new shampoo for my dry hair. I think its true for most of us that our body in general needs more up-keeping in the beauty department during cold winter months: dry skin, dry hair…so I spend most of my annual beauty budget October – February – sheet masks, hair masks, fat body lotions and lip moisturisers – you name it.

This shampoo was bought in a bid to make my hair more hydrated and shiny – because no matter what I do – it always looks pretty dry and lifeless in these months. And since this shampoo promises exactly that (hydration and shine) and contains the right ingredients for it (avocado oil and olive fruit oil) – I awaited success. What did I get? Actually I noticed no real difference after I started to use this shampoo. Not at all. You might say maybe – you are not using the other magic ingredients needed for hair success (hair mask, regular hair cuts, hair oil, conditioner made for your hair type) – and the answer is YES I DO. I use all of the above and a bit more (leave-in conditioner, extra spray on oil for very dehydrated day, a varied diet). So my conclusion for this shampoo is – its pretty useless and I don‘t recommend it to any of you.

Revlon Eksperience Wave Remedy Anti Frizz Hair Cleanser Review

41sa8vwcqwl._sy355_

Pros:

Actually holds frizz down.

Cons:

You need a lot per use.

More:

I‘m currently on a bit of a break from my war on frizz – its been raining non-stop for 2 weeks in my part of the hood and I‘m exhausted from trying to keep my hair looking ok.  I have given up and am focusing all my love and selfcare on my face. But I still would like to recommend this shampoo which has been a good friend in my anti-frizz war (even though even this shampoo can‘t do anything when the rain pours down like it does right now). What I like about this shampoo is that its easy to use: easy to wash out of your hair, and doesn‘t make my scalp dry – which most other shampoos do. It also gives great subtle volume and most importantly – holds my frizz back from ruining my good hair days.

Alterna Bamboo Volume Abundant Shampoo and Conditioner Review

41qicy-mkel

Pros:

Gives great natural volume indeed.

Cons:

The shampoo and conditioner smell a bit too strong for me.

More:

I have had some up and downs with my hair lately (it just looks and feels tired – just like me) – and these two have come in handy. The shampoo and conditioner make my hair very soft and I don‘t use any additional products except hair mask and some oil on my split ends and my hair still looks totally “fixed” and in place. Like I just visited a hairdresser. But the volume in my hair rather subtle, so if you are locking for some crazy volume this is the wrong shampoo and conditioner, also a lot of natural volume in my hair and don‘t know how much of it comes from the shampoo and conditioner and how much is just my own.

Eksperience Wave Remedy Anti Frizz Hair Mask Review

eks-antifrizz-mask-m

Pros:

Actually works – frizz disappears.

Cons:

A bit pricey.

More:

My personal struggle against my frizzy hair goes on (and on and on) – so this mask is one of my latest discoveries. It promises to hydrate and discipline frizzy hair – and I kind of think that it does it very well. It makes my hair extremely soft and my split ends appear more checked. Though since you are only supposed to use a hair mask on your ends and not roots, half of your hair can still be frizzy even though you used the mask – which is tricky. What I hate about frizzy hair is that it makes me feel so dishevelled – you have your perfect outfit, lipstick on and feel on top and then frizzy hair can just kill it in a second.  This mask is a bit pricey but I will definitely re-purchase it – all just to look checked and like I got my s..t together (I know it‘s all in my head but still important it comes from the inside and sips out).

Redken Extreme CAT Protein Treatment Review

10305417-1484302098789835

Pros:

Doesn‘t smell bad.

Cons:

Does nothing for my hair.

More:

I have really coarse, curly and dry hair that I flat-iron weekly and therefore needs all the love in the world. I was pursued to by this product from a hairdresser to get a stronger, healthier and more wear-resistant hair but I can’t notice any difference on my hair. At all. It promises to reconstruct and recondition my hair – and to add weight immediately – nothing of that happened. I would not recommend buying this product unless you like to play the lottery – or just have some money you want to waste – literally.

L:A Bruket Koriander/Svartpeppar Conditioner Review

432647-b86113b4bbe64e0d8fac7217f2bd4d6c

Pros:

Packed with good ingredients – almond oil, vitamin B, cilantro and blackpepper.

Cons:

I still need to use extra products for my split ends after use.

More:

I have to admit that I was sceptical to this conditioner – as much, as I love L:A Bruket and their natural ingredients – my hair is so dry nothing but hardcore chemicals can help it. I know, that stating that one loves chemicals in anything is almost despicable since one is supposed to be into all things natural and eco. But honestly my frizz needs some things that nature alone can not offer. So I was pleasantly surprised by this conditioner when it actually took great care of my scalp and my hair.

My scalp is very dry and during the winter season I‘m like a snake shedding skin – after ignoring this fact for years I‘ve actually started investing in products which aim at giving the scalp some love (not only your hair). This conditioner is filled with goodness aiming at the scalp – almond oil, vitamin B and wheat protein. The cilantro and black pepper is is supposed to stimulate blood flow in the scalp. I love the unexpected combination of cilantro and black pepper – the smell is fresh and new to me. The conditioner gives my hair a lot of hydration, helps my split ends – which feel more soft and most importantly has taken great care of my scalp – my skin is less dry and itchy. That my split ends still need some leave-in conditioner and hair oil despite the use of this conditioner.

Revlon Professional be FABULOUS Texture Care C.R.E.A.M. Curly Hair Curl Defining Conditioner Review

z9fjuvlauzt4wkotctmn

Pros:

Works just as well when not used in combination with the curl defining shampoo.

Cons:

Just like with the curl defining shampoo – you need a lot per use.

More:

I have previously shared how much I love the shampoo that‘s twining with this conditioner. My curls are my pride – but I have been neglecting them for a long time and tend to not really think of them when I pick my hair care. So this is actually the first shampoo + conditioner duo i picked up to nourish them. And seeing the niiice effect it had on my curls – I will continue picking products that focus on enhancing my hair pride. Enhancing the natural texture of your hair rather then hiding it is my new deal (goodbye sleek Amal Clooney hair hello my inner true self no blow-dry crazy hair crazy mind self).

Back to this conditioner – it really makes my curls more well-defined, big and beautiful. The price of the conditioner is very reasonable and the only minus is that you need pretty much per use.

Revlon Professional be Fabulous C.R.E.A.M. anti-frizz mask Review

Revlon-Professional-Be-Fabulous-Texture-Care-Smooth-Hair-CREAM-Mask-71620

Pros:

Makes my hair more smooth – as promised.

Cons:

Doesn‘t really help make frizz to disappear.

More:

I‘m trying to watch my budget – and this hair mask fits my new not spending too much money on my hair idea. And the struggle with frizzy hair has been utterly real for the past warm weeks for me – so I was curious if this mask could help the frizz. Verdict: my hair becomes more smooth as promised, but the frizz doesn‘t really disappear – which is super annoying – and against what was promised. So this mask will probably not be repurchased again, though I think it is pretty decent for its price point.

REVLON PROFESSIONAL BE FABULOUS C.R.E.A.M. CURL DEFINING SHAMPOO REVIEW

4623787

Pros:

Great for crazy curly hair.

Cons:

You need a lot per use.

More:

This is my favourite shampoo this year so far. I have  a pretty costly habit when it comes to hair care – and I really don‘t settle for less – so this is a bit of a “budget” product to me. Now don‘t get me wrong – I know I‘m privileged and spending tons of money on hair care is definitely a priority for me (just as buying living of carrots and omelettes for a week in a row to save money is too) . So I was pleasantly surprised but how great this shampoo works for my hair. My hair is messy and curly – and already after the first use I noticed my curls more defined – which I love. My hair also became smoother and more hydrated. Basically this is a great budget option for crazy curly hair like mine. Also, my hair usually looks pretty gloom a day before its time for a wash – but after I started using this shampoo my hair looks great all the way – and I even wash it a day later. And I will definitely re-purchase this shampoo. Negatives? You need a lot per use.
