Revlon Be Fabulous Fine Hair Volumizing Spray Review

volume_hair_spray

Pros:

Gives my hair nice structure…

Cons:

…and more volume (though not as much as one could expect)..

More:

I have very fine hair – and of course dream of volume (why can‘t one just be happy with what one‘s got?!)..This spray gives my hair more volume (not crazy much but enough) and texture (aka it doesn‘t “fly around” as much – as it usually does)..It smells very nice of perfume, not chemical or of candy – which I really appreciate.

I have in the past experienced rashes from volume sprays – but not from this one – even though I spray it on like 15 – 20 sprays daily.

Caviar Anti-Aging Infinite Color Hold Vibrancy Serum Review

alte0235h_1_l

Pros:

Makes my hair shiny and health looking.

Cons:

Can‘t really notice any color protection.

More:

I got this serum in hope of protecting my dyed hair as it turns dry and the color fades a few weeks after dying it. This serum also promises to protect your hair against the sun and to add shine.

I can‘t really tell if it has protected my hair color – I just can‘t see any difference. But my hair definitely looks more healthy and my split ends are less visible (where did they go -. I don‘t know – promise I haven‘t cut them off!). When used after washing my hair it provided shine to my hair. But if I use it between washes it makes my thin hair look greasy so I can only recommend to use it straight after you washed your hair.

Eksperience 6-Vitamins Cocktail Filler Review

boost-6-vitamins-cocktail-filler

Pros:

Moisturises my hair well.

Cons:

Not sure vitamins can be absorbed by dead materia – aka your hair.

More:

I like the idea of using hair products one can leave-in (cause I‘m lazy let‘s face it and I feel very economic – no waste of product since its all left in). This vitamin boost filler comes in a glass jar, and is usually sold at salons – I consider myself taking a big “step-up” using salon products – which is new to me. It is supposed to rebuilt and give loads of moisture to the hair. I haven‘t been able to find information online if our hair can actually absorb vitamins – since its dead materia- but I‘m desperate and I‘ll put anything in my dry hair that sounds healthy (vitamins are good for you to eat – why not put it in the hair? I know blond logic).

My verdict – you only need a little per use. It doesn‘t make your hair greasy and it makes my hair feel very moisturised – though you can‘t replace your conditioner with this filler  – you need more.

Maria Nila True Soft Masque Review

maria-nila-true-soft-masque-3

Pros:

100% vegan ingredients.

Cons:

Smells a big heavy.

More:

I must admit that one knows that life is great when one of your “problems” is that your hair is too dry and coarse. Seriously I feel ridiculous even now – writing that this is a “problem”. But anyways – those of you following the blog know that my hair plays me loads of tricks and I‘m constantly on the lock-out for new stuff to make it look like I have a Kate Middleton stylist following me (the stylist would have to be a hippy and free soul though – Kate‘s hair is way too perfect in my opinion).

I have never tried anything from Swedish Maria Nila before but was pretty impressed with the following: their stuff is produced in Sweden (yey), contain 100% vegan ingredient and are free of sulphates and parabens.

This mask is very creamy, smells nice (though a bit heavy) and makes my hair super super smooth, plus you need very little per use. I really enjoy when you apply a masque and can feel how your hair becomes super easy to detangle and smooth within minutes.  It‘s a keeper for me – if your hair is pretty fluffy from the beginning it might not have the effect you wish though.

The best budget beauty products – the complete list

pg-116-june-issue-kate-moss-vogue-29apr13-patrick-demarchelier_b_1080x720

We think that beauty should be simple – one doesn‘t have to spend tons of money to look pretty and feel happy. We all know that the best advice to look and feel splendid are free – tons of sleep, a lot of water and keeping a happy mind. But of course we are no strangers to using a little help – and since we rather spend our money on lattes and pretty dresses we wanted to share our list of budget products that makes us feel like a million bucks for a lot less…

  1. Smooth skin is number one for me personally and though I like expensive lotions and potions I always keep coming back to my favourite budget oilbaby oil – makes your skin fantastically smooth and costs next to nothing (pssst apparently sweet almond oil from the baby department at the french pharmacies is a well kept secret of french beauty..).
  2. If you are one of those girls (or boys) who are into a polished look a good hair brush is a must – the HH Simonsen wet brush – saved my hair and I have been using it ever since. Being ridiculously cheap (around 15 dollars, the cost – per – use is pretty sweet) it is one of my best budget buys EVER.
  3. Since happiness is a must for beauty – in our opinion – at least if you want that glowing  fantastic va-va-voom beauty. I get that from many things in life but one of the is a good relaxing shower (repeat after me: its the small things in life…) – and the Le Petit Marseilles Miel de Lavande shower cream – is my favourite shower gel. This one is hard to find outside of France, costs next to nothing (3 dollars), makes my skin super soft but best of all – smells fantastic of lavendar.
  4. For me a great hair oil is a staple and the Orofluido hair oil – has saved my dry hair. It costs around 20 dollars, but a 100 ml bottle lasted me for about 2,5 years so I still consider it a great investment.
  5. Finally even when on a budget an extra a bit unnecessary but oh so indulgent beauty product can make your bathroom feel a bit more extravagant – that one product for me has been  my bottle of Avene face water – which has stayed with me for the past 2 years. Yes it feels a bit stupid to pay for water, but my bottle has lasted me for over 2 years and god does it feel great to splash ones face with some thermal water and march out to meet the day ahead.

Alterna Bamboo Volume Abundant Shampoo and Conditioner Review

41e66gkgaml-_sy355_

Pros:

Gives great natural volume indeed.

Cons:

The shampoo and conditioner smell a bit too strong for me.

More:

I have had some up and downs with my hair lately (it just looks and feels tired – just like me) – and these two have come in handy. The shampoo and conditioner make my hair very soft and I don‘t use any additional products except hair mask and some oil on my split ends and my hair still looks totally “fixed” and in place. Like I just visited a hairdresser. But the volume in my hair rather subtle, so if you are locking for some crazy volume this is the wrong shampoo and conditioner, also a lot of natural volume in my hair and don‘t know how much of it comes from the shampoo and conditioner and how much is just my own.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream Review

10850175-1364444948821273

Pros:

Smells very nice

Cons:

Makes my hair look greasy when applied to dry hair.

More:

This cc cream promises your hair everything in the world (moisture, shine, softness, UV protection, strength…and 5 more things since its a 10 in one..). I have classic thin Scandinavian hair…so I constantly dream of some va-va-voom feeling..therefore I had very high hopes. First time I used it on towel dry hair and when used in combination with other volume products, I could see more shiny and looked more sleak and my split ends were less visible. Other times when I have used it on dry and not newly washed hair I just got the result of greasy hair and felt pretty disappointed.

Revlon Professional Be Fabulous Cream Shampoo and Conditioner for normal/thick hair Review

41kzq5tw5tl-_sy355_

Pros:

Gives my hair great volume.

Cons:

My hair looks dirty already 2 days after use.

More:

I think this shampoo and conditioner are very good budget options to my usual Bamboo and Alterna products (which I love but are pretty pricey). They give my hair great volume, smell good and my hair looks very “put together” after use (aka it looks like I actually have a hair stylist and some kind of vision when it comes to my hair – and not just an explosion of volume). The conditioner makes my hair feel soft immediately and can be used solo without a mask since it is so hydrating and nourishing.

Since I have thick hair I only wash it once every 5 days, but when using this shampoo and conditioner my hair looked dirty already after 2-3 days – which is a big minus for me. I made my granny use this shampoo and conditioner too and she had the same result.

Our best hair products – the complete list

3738large

It‘s no secret hair products take up a lot of space on this blog. Therefore we decided to compose a list of our all time favourite hair products:

  1. Best hair maskKiehl’s Olive Fruit Reparative hair pak – I have been using this mask for the past two years and ALWAYS return to it – actually its the only thing from Kiehl‘s I‘ve stayed faithful to. The mask makes my hair instantly (after 10 minutes) soft, easy to de-tangle and just makes it look much better. This blog is more about what you shouldn‘t buy rather then what you should buy and this mask is probably the only time I‘ve urged my readers to try something so urgently. By try I mean getting a sample of it. Read full review here.
  2. Best hair oilOrofluido hair oil – this oil is the oil of all oils, and those of you who have read a few reviews of hair products on this blog know that I always refer back to it. This oil makes my hair instantly soft and smells of heaven. And its a great budget buy – a bottle has lasted me for 2 years. Trust me I have tried a lot of oils and nothing comes close to it (yes we are talking about you Moroccan oil). See full review here.
  3. Best dry shampood:fi dry shampoo – most beauty/fashion/french bloggers refer to Klorane dry shampoo as the best thing out there. We have reviewed it (read review here) and we really really really liked it. But seriously there must be other dry shampoos out there which are just as good and keep a good level of quality..answer: hell yeah. Sure d:fi dry shampoo doesn‘t ooze of french sophistication but its good quality, the color is neutral (not traces of white in my hair yey) and its cheap. Much better than Klorane if you look at it from a price point – which I know many of you are. Read the full review here.
  4. Best shampoo and conditionerBamboo smooth anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner – this shampoo and conditioner are my favourites because they give my hair that va va voom feeling and a bottle lasts for about 6 months (which might justify the steep price). Considering frizz one of my hairs biggest enemies these bottles have been saviours. Read full review here.
  5. Best quick fixBamboo Kendi oil dry oil mist – this oil is my go when I need a quick solution – some shine and nice texture. It doesn‘t replace a hair cut and won‘t fight dry ends but It‘s a big favourite – partly again cause a bottle lasts for years and the shine adds some well-needed confidence from sad hair days. Read full review here.

This is our list, please feel free to share your favourite hair products with us and we will do out best to feature them in the blog. Or do you disagree with some of our choices – let us know – we love all feed-back!
