L:A Bruket Sea Salt Scrub Sage / Rosemary / Lavender Review

063_sea_salt_scrub_sage_rosemary_lavender_350ml_1024x1024

Pros:

Contains a lot of oil which makes my skin very soft after use – no need to use a body oil or body lotion.

Cons:

The scrub could be “rougher” on my skin (I like my skin to hurt a bit after a proper scrub).

More:

Those of you whom have followed us for a while know about our L:A Bruket obsession and that we can‘t get enough of these Swedish good ingredients beauty products which make us feel like a zillion (and like queens of all things natural obviously). This time we have gotton our hands on the Lavender/ Sage / Rosemary body scrub and here are our thoughts: the scrub is made of fine salt, it smells delicious mainly of rosemary and leaves our skin very smooth. The salt is drained in oil so our skin feels very hydrated and supersoft after use – which is great since most scrubs leave you itchy and in immediate need of body lotion / body oil. Negatives: the scrub could have contained bigger salt grains in order for one to really feel a more “rough” scrub.

Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque Review

3605971316760

Pros:

Feels very soothing and hydrating.

Cons:

Is a bit sticky.

More:

This is definitely my favourite buy of 2017 to this day. I got this masque as a treat to myself on a trip to New York as a treat and to celebrate new beginnings: new job, new plans, new ambitions and a lot of knowledge from mistakes I made in 2016 (it was a year on standstill full of emotions – and I‘ve decided to make 2017 easier for myself and my surroundings). Surely all my new hopes and promises should come with extra glowing skin I thought…and this masque did not disappoint.

The masque has a gel-like consistency, which feels a bit sticky but very pleasant and soothing on my skin. You use it for 5 minutes and I saw an instant result after the first use: my skin feels very hydrated and look glowing. Also I‘m a fan of the ingredients: aloe vera and calendula are known to have a calming effect on skin. This mask gives me the feeling of being in a spa and I love it.

I have used the Kiehls algea face masque and was a fan too – thought I don‘t think it‘s sold anymore. Though I have mixed feelings about Kiehls and think they make great and not soo great stuff – them seem to know how to make great face masques.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleaning Balm

Pros:

Cleanses my skin perfectly

Cons:

Super expensive!

More:

This cleanser is super luxurious with natural plant oils and only natural fragrances. It cleanses perfectly fine, with a quite strong perfume that I’m not sure if I like or not.  I have use tons of other cleansers that works just as fine, without stripping my skin, with a smell that I’m certain that I like for a third of the price (read all of our zillion reviews here). I’m sorry, but this product is just not worth it.

Pixi Glow Tonic Review

Pros:

My skin looks much better since I started using this tonic.

Cons:

The price.

More:

Is it too soon to call this a modern classic? Or did I just fall for the hype? Doesn’t really matter, I love this tonic. The ingredient list is full of goodies that take care of your skin, and the AHA-acids keeps it exfoliated. I use this tonic daily and my skin is brighter with less break-outs ever since. It says that you should apply it with a cotton pad, but since I don‘t want to waste any expensive drops I just apply it straight on the skin with my fingers with makes the bottle last much longer.

Moroccan Oil Dry Body Oil Review

Pros:

Easy to apply and gets absorbed quickly.

Cons:

Doesn‘t help the dries parts of my chicken skin.

More:

Well I am probably the last person on earth who hasn‘t tried the actual super hyped Moroccan hair oil (because I have my favourites and this time I‘m not cheating..maybe). But when I heard they started doing skin care I became rather curious..this is body oil has the same nice smell as the original argan hair oil, I love that it is easy to apply by just spraying and it gets absorbed super duper fast which is a big plus when one is in a hurry (always). You need very little per use which makes the bottle last forever which is another plus. Minus? The price and that it doesn‘t help on the driest parts of my chicken skin.

Elizabeth Arden Pro Perfection Facial Serum Review

Pros:

My skin have never looked better!

Cons:

Expensive. Makes my skin more sensitive to sun.

More:

I bought this serum as yet another desperate attempt to get rid of break-outs, blackheads and enlarged pores. The results of this serum completely blew me away! My skin looks so much better that even my almost-blind-“come-on-your-skin-looks-perfectly-fine”-partner not only commented on how much better my skin looks since I used it, but he also notices when I don’t. This thing is more potent than make-up, I tell you. However, since it contains both AHA and BHA it’s really necessary to use a high SPF to protect your skin. My first bottle of 30 ml lasted for 3-4 months and I just started on the second one. I have found THE serum for me!

The Best Oils For Face and Body List

Having a creepy and unhealthy (but ooh soo fabulous) and addictive relationship with oils I‘ve been going pretty wild these past years and tried to purchase everything for my body and face in oil form. Here is my top list:

  1. Best hair oil ever is this one – affordable and bottle last for a year at least, the only thing that helps when your hair is dying for a cut.
  2.  My favourite body oil smells of lavender, great before bed for a calming effect both for my soul and my legs (whom are scared they will never see the day light due to their chicken skin look).
  3. Cleansing your face with oil became a dream with this cleansing oil, it smells of childhood and the bottle last for many months plus I love to support a good entrepreneur.
  4. Despite its fishy smell I love love love what this oil does for my face during the winter.
  5. The best budget oil out there – almost free and makes you soft like a baby.
  6. This French shower oil is a true treat.

I would like to say I haven‘t meet an oil I didn‘t like but that would be a big fat lie – don‘t try this oil at home beauties.

Review of Beauté Pacifique Submersive Serum Paradox

Pros:

Skin looks amazing after use.

Cons:

Slightly greasy, so pimply people beware!

More:

Beauté Pacifique is the brain child of two former Novo* employees, meaning that their products are born from medical genius (*Novo is a Danish multibillion euro medical company). Being slightly Danish my heart started pounding extra fast when realising that I was in love with their vit A creams (that do exactly what they say on the tin). This luxurious serum looks so good however, you wonder why the rest of their products don‘t look as cool. The serum is a great base for makeup and my skin looked very dewy when I had just applied my face. I did find that my makeup somehow sloughed off faster than it usually does when using it. Overall a great serum, with beautiful and practical packaging that also costs a little less than most serums available.

Just for the record, I use this serum once a week, when my skin is seriously thirsty. I have dry and oily skin, which reacts badly using any serum more then a few times a week.

Review of Origins Ginzing Refreshing Face Mask

Pros:

Skin feels more fresh after use.

Cons:

..But not that super fresh as one would expect.

More:

Masks are such a nice luxury for you face, which is why I think so many of us bloggers obsess about them. The GinZing from Origins contains coffee, hoelen mushroom and cucumber (how a mushroom which is used as treatment for diarrhea is supposed to soothe your skin is beyond me).  Anyways, Origins promises that the mask will add extra glow and an energy boost to your tired skin.

Since my skin is beyond tired from late night studying and obsessive watching of Fargo, I though I would give it a go.

The mask feels very pleasant on my skin to start with, but starts itching if you keep it on for more then 10 minutes, but you are only supposed to use it for 10 minutes so that is OK. It has a jelly-like consistency and smells flowery like the rest of the Origins products. After usage my face does look a bit more fresh, but I really cannot see any of that promised glow or radience.  For those of you still considering to purchase this mask: you need a very small amount per application so a package lasts long, but I think I will give mine away (to somebody who doesnt read my reviews;).
