The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream-Mask Review

2157_0

Pros:

Makes my skin feel very hydrated.

Cons:

No extra benefits to my skin but hydration.

More:

I think that 2017 will be all about aloe vera for me. 2016 was a year when I obsessed about rose and lavender (and still do a bit) – bit this year I feel like the calming ingredients should calm my skin instead of my hurricane mind. So therefore I got this mask – after being in the sun the first to months of 2017 (lucky me) – I felt like my skin needed some extra hydration, and this mask was pretty reasonable priced so I couldn‘t resist.

Verdict: the mask is like a fat cream. I doesn‘t irritate my skin, and you only need a thin layer. Results: very smooth, calm and hydrated skin. Just like one would expect after a fat face cream (except fat face creams usually make me break out so I prefer this mask).

Origins Out of Trouble Mask Review

s1376052-main-zoom

Pros:

Smell of camphor makes me believe this is really working.

Really keeps its promises to reduce grease and works as anti-inflamatory.

Cons:

Take care on more sensitive areas, and avoid using where it is not needed, as is might dry out and stress the skin.

More:

Winter is coming, and that means bye bye glowey, healty, easy going skin.. And welcome increasingly greasy, grey skin with random pimple outbursts on cheeks, that never ever heal. Winter for me is tough, one should think that scandinavian genes would have prepared us for month on month with no sunlight… But winter always fucks up my skin. And while I cover up my unshaven legs in layers of pantyhoes and jeans, my face is the only thing I need to take care of. SO one of the things I struggle with during winter is greasy skin with the occasional pimples that wont go away.  In my search for a mask that actually shows results, I stumbled over this one. And let me say, it is efficient. Almost too efficient, by that I mean, it can be a bit harsh on the skin, so I only use it on trouble area (in my case forehead). Once a week, or when needed, and the effect is long lasting – but that I mean that it reduced grease and works in an anti-inflammatory way – making my skin less prone to break-outs.  This mask almost feels pharmaceutical withs its potpourri of all the famous ingredients, that say bye bye pimples and grease: zink oxide, salicylic acid, sulfur, and camphor! This smell just says, “this is working!”.

Revlon Professional be Fabulous C.R.E.A.M mask Review (for normal/thick hair)

cream_mask_200ml

Pros:

Makes my hair easy to detangle.

Cons:

Smell is a bit heavy.

More:

I feel a bit like a professor of the be Fabulous line – because I‘ve tested most of the products (see reviews here, here and here). This hair mask is one of my favourites (the strong number one is held by the repairing serum  – I used up the bottle in a month). I like that it makes my hair easy to detangle, and that it doesn‘t have to stay in your hair for too long for effect (I make it 10 minutes usually). The smell is a bit heavy – makes you feel like you are in a hair saloon. It makes my hair OK moisturised – the thing is that it‘s soo cold right now everything on my body is dry (my skin, my eyes, and of course my hair too) – so I feel that I can‘t really give this mask a fair mark on that one, because I‘m using coconut oil on all of my body (except eyes though) to try make all that dryness disappear – and feel that its a bit of an exceptionally dry state my hair is in – that no mask can help me out of (but a combo of a lot of oil/this hair mask/oil mist can)…

ACO Rescue Mist Review

8809754591262

Pros:

Can be spritzed on top of my make-up without ruining it.

Cons:

The mist smells a bit strong.

More:

Now is the time of the year that my skin starts getting very dry and needs some extra hydration – and I know I‘m certainly not alone in that. I like easy solutions and this spray has been one of them – a few spritz before bedtime, and after a few days use I noticed that my skin looked and felt both more smooth and well hydrated (and well-rested – despite my stressed brain allowing me very little sleep!). The spray contains vitamin C – which is supposed to boost hydration – so I‘m all game. Also I appreciate the price – it is friendly to my wallet (especially not that it is saving up for a fab Gucci tote).

What minuses does the spray have? The smell. Being a pharmacy sold brand, I kind of expected the smell of the spray to be next to nothing, and therefore it feels a bit over the top and very “perfumy”. I would prefer if this spray was odourless.

Biotherm Life Plankton Mask Review

trial-prod

Pros:

Makes my skin exceptionally soft without irritating it…

Cons:

so do many other masks – which are cheaper.

More:

I got hocked on this mask because it has a soft gel (“hydrogel”) like texture – applying it transforms me into thinking that my rather ordinary bathroom is a spa (but only thinking – not feeling it though!). I think Biotherm are pretty good at making face products which feel fabulous on the skin – just because they are gels – but I have to admit I have very little experience with their stuff (actually I have owned two Biotherm products to this date: see review here and here) – I‘m just one of those people trying everything on in the store and then going home empty handed. But this time the sales guy got me, he applied the hydrogel on my hand with a special brush – and though he tried to make me buy the brush too (the brush costs a fortune) I restrained myself and only went home with the mask (note to self never let an unknown man convince you to try and expensive mask, you will eat noodles for the rest of the week!!).

Conclusion: the mask is worth the money since you need a tiny bit per application so the jar lasts for ages. It gets absorbed easily – so it‘s not greasy, and my skin feels very soft the next morning. Unfortunately many other masks can do that too (see here and here for budget options). The hydrogel quality doesn‘t really make me feel like I‘m a spa at all – unfortunately.

Revlon Professional be Fabulous Hair Recovery Conditioner for damaged hair Review

revlon-be-fabulous-hair-recovery-cream-keratin-con

Pros:

Lathers well.

Cons:

My hair is greasy two days after use.

More:

Dear readers, today we are on a rampage..not cause we are well rested after a sunny vacation but because vacation is so close that we can actually see it, and therefore we decided to post twice in one day. That rarely happens for us, since a review should be well thought out and we test everything for ages before giving you our opinions, to make sure they are well thought out.

Anyways, back to this conditioner – it feels very good when you apply it – lathery and promising. But the smell is a bit synthethic (too much like a hair salon). After use my hair looks good for a few days – maybe one or two – and then slowly turns more and more greasy. Since I rarely get greasy hair this conditioner gets thumbs down big time!! It didn‘t give my hair that “anti-damage” boost that one would expect either!

DanishSkinCare Smooth Skin Treatment Review

danish-skin-care-sst

Pros:

Reduces pores and black spots. Decreases the amount of pimples I have.

Cons:

Not suitable for sensitive skin

More:

I bought this skin tonic as I read some remarkable stories from girls who were helped for their pimples and black heads. It also claimed that it could reduce poresize. Since I am 30 years pimples are luckily rare i my face. But I have struggled with large pores and black heads since I was a teenager.  So this was last step, and I really think it have helped my skin thanks to effective ingredients like salicylic acid and niacinamide. The first two or the times I used it my sensitive skin turned irritated and red, but after some days use my skin tolerated it. I can recommend it to people with not sensitive skin, who struggle with teenage skin and black spots and pores. Seriously they can really make you miserable – especially when many and uncontrollable.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Review

Pros:

Perfume free.

Cons:

Takes ages to get your make-up off.

More:

After using the Cetaphil face and body lotion, I wanted to try their face cleanser, which is kind of a myth. Apparently both Charlize Theron and Zoe Saldana live by it…so I thought I‘d like some Charlize in my face too…It felt good knowing that it is perfume free and has a great reputation, so my expectations are through the roof. So I go home, and try to wash my make-up off..and what happens? Nothing gets washed off, I have to literally scrub eyes with this cleanser for 5 minutes to get my mascara off. The cleanser kind off just moved around the dirt on my face without actually removing it. And to remove the actual cleanser from my face I have to use very generous amounts off water and a lot of effort. So now we all know that Charlize and Zoe basically don‘t take off their make-up, and that‘s why they are always picture perfect, just like stars should be.

ACO Sun Mousse Active Spf 30 Review

medium_aco-sun-mousse-active-spf30-26775

Pros:

Odourless.

Cons:

Makes ones skin very sticky after application.

More:

My mum gave me this sunscreen mousse before I went on vacation. Thank god mum doesn‘t read my blog cause I have to honestly say – this mousse is pretty darn bad. It does protect one from the sunny, but your skin feels beyond sticky and one just gets uncomfortable. First and foremost, the texture of this mousse is a bit like its supposed to be put in your hair and not on your body (its not a “soft” mousse – if that expression makes any sense). If you try to apply it on dry skin you will never be able to distribute it evenly – so you have to first go in the water. Thirdly – the cream never gets properly absorbed so you walk around all sticky – a major no for the beach. Therefore I will never ever buy this mousse again (sorry mum!). It also gets a low rating in the value for money category since its hard to evaluate how much mousse you need and end up getting to much per spritz.
