The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Review

zb_p

Pros:

Low price for relatively big quantity.

Cons:

Doesn‘t really do anything for my skin.

More:

This is your writer with the acne again – after a little miracle (pregnancy) my skin turned much clearer – but I still got problems with greasy and acne prone skin. I got this solution after reading several raving reviews and watching numerous youtube videos where it was described as the saviour for problem prone skin. The actual product description doesn‘t really promise anything but after reading all those reviews that rave about the removal of excess skin and exfoliation; one comes to assume that it could make ones pores smaller and diminish pimples. Result: nothing really happens. After application I don‘t even feel any lingering sensation on my skin, and I don‘t notice any exfoliating effect. My skin looks the same after continuously using this solution twice weekly for a month. I will not repurchase it.

What attracted me to this solution is its high concentration of acids but super low price – making a salon treatment available for most wallets. Unfortunetly it did nothing for me.

Eucerin Aquaporin Active Cream Review

ecn_15810_69781_aquaporin_day_spf_25_ps_print111111-800x600

Pros:

Gives great hydration.

Cons:

No anti-wrinkle properties.

More:

This cream worked great for me – I have very dry skin, that likes to transform into oily skin (due to all the dryness) which causes huge break-outs. So my mission has been to find a cream which provides me with only moisture but no “fat”, and this cream does that for me.  It‘s very light in texture and can be used both during the winter and the summer, and I use it as a day and night cream (because I‘m on a budget).

This cream was one of my weapons when I decided to try to get rid of my break-outs/acne without medication. And it worked. I also used African black soap, the enzyme peel by Emma S and tea tree oil.

What are the minuses? The cream has no anti-wrinkle active ingredients, just pure hydration.

bareMinerals Matte Foundation Review

s1195346-main-hero

Pros:

Fantastic coverage

Cons:

When you apply it with a brush you can get some residue on your clothes and surrounding (not good when you are wearing black.)

More:

I have always been sceptic to loose powder and foundation, thinking that if something is “loose” – it can easily disappear aka won‘t stay on for too long. But this powder has really been revolutionising for my oily, acne prone skin – this foundation covers up great – I have tried a shitton of foundations in my life time and this one is the only one which has covered up my pimples well, and stays on for long (not gone with the wind as I first thought). It is so easy to apply this foundation – its not sticky, its hygienic since one is using a brush. And it gets absorbed very easily. Not all stuff from bareMinerals is magic, read this review.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation Review

clq_zgh6_402x464

Pros:

Nice package.

Cons:

Looks pretty unnatural.

More:

It got tricked. I walked into the store looking for a transparent oil absorbing powder – but came out with a powder foundation plus concealer powder. What was I thinking ? I was not thinking obviously and I was tricked.  I think sometimes the salespeople speak to our inner selves – the salesperson that day was just trying to cover up my acne for me.

Verdict: this powder covers up well, you get 14,5 grams of powder per package (usually you get 9). The package is pretty, functional, and has a big mirror. The powder is supposed to hydrate dry parts of the skin, but instead of giving a nice matte touch, my skin turns shiny and oily within a few hours after the use of this powder. The powder piles up on my skin and looks very unnatural.
