Revlon Be Fabulous End Repairing Serum Review

revlon-be-fabulous-hair-recovery-ends-repair-serum

Pros:

Makes my split ends look more “healthy” and taken care off.

Cons:

You need a lot per use of this serum.

More:

Split ends is one of my biggest hair issues (except a DIY blond dye which keeps me up at night), so I jump onto any product which promises to help! I have been using this serum both in wet and dry hair, with equally satisfying effect. The serum is absorbed very fast and makes my split ends more soft, hides away frizz in my hair and has a great overall effect. With overall effect I mean that my hair looks very sleek and much more healthy then it actually is (by actually is I count the time since I last visited a hairdresser for a trim).

REVLON PROFESSIONAL BE FABULOUS HAIR RECOVERY Shampoo For DAMAGED HAIR REVIEW

16457eac20051bb5ee2416ea13d9a32d

Pros:

Nice package.

Cons:

No effect on my dry and damaged hair.

More:

I have my Revlon favourites – and this one is not one of them unfortunately.  Just like the conditioner (read review here) – my hair gets greasy after two days of use, and I simply don‘t see any effect on my beyond dry hair (which is crying for help). My split ends are just the same – and even though I think my hair looks pretty sleak the first two days after use, I hate when it gets greasy on the third day. I think the package is nice, and the smell although a bit synthetic – nice too..But I would not repurchase this one, and will continue to look for another remedy for my very dry and tired hair.

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser Review

s1108240-main-zoom

Pros:

No problems with break-outs despite its heavy texture.

Cons:

Smells of detergent.

More:

My mum gave me this cleanser for christmas – in a smaller package (30 ml). That lasted me about 2,5 months – which I think is good. The cleanser feels more like a cream, and you need a lot per use and a lot of water to make it foam. It smells a bit like detergent (sorry stole this anomaly from a review on makeup alley) – which is unpleasant but leaves my skin feeling clean, though not very soft. I haven‘t had any problems with break-outs while using this cleanser, which the detergent smell made me fear – happy about that.

Clarins either make fantastic stuff (face oil and the beauty flash balm) or things which are pretty horrid to ones skin (their face mask). This face cleanser lands somewhere in the middle – its not that great – it can even feel luxurious if you are into the “heavy” make-up and beauty stuff – but if you like lightness and herbal smells this is not for you.

Revlon Professional be Fabulous Hair Recovery Conditioner for damaged hair Review

revlon-be-fabulous-hair-recovery-cream-keratin-con

Pros:

Lathers well.

Cons:

My hair is greasy two days after use.

More:

Dear readers, today we are on a rampage..not cause we are well rested after a sunny vacation but because vacation is so close that we can actually see it, and therefore we decided to post twice in one day. That rarely happens for us, since a review should be well thought out and we test everything for ages before giving you our opinions, to make sure they are well thought out.

Anyways, back to this conditioner – it feels very good when you apply it – lathery and promising. But the smell is a bit synthethic (too much like a hair salon). After use my hair looks good for a few days – maybe one or two – and then slowly turns more and more greasy. Since I rarely get greasy hair this conditioner gets thumbs down big time!! It didn‘t give my hair that “anti-damage” boost that one would expect either!

Eos Shimmer Sheer Pink Lip Balm Review

eos-shimmer-lip-balm-pink-pearl-open

Pros:

Soo easy to apply evenly.

Cons:

My lips are dry again one hour after use.

More:

After being into heavy needs a browns this winter I‘m feeling like being Ms Spring  – all easy and floating in pastels and light blue nails ( ohh that nice Chanel Coco blue shade…) – and of course I want my lips to be pink with that.

This is my first Eos lip balm and I‘m now a fan – for a person whom usually struggles to put on any lip make-up evenly this one was very very easy to apply due to its sphere shape. It also feels very soft and hydrating on my lips without being sticky (shea butter and jojaba oil). And the price is fair. I like that you can decide on how much pink you want on your lips by layering this balm, without it feeling like you are wearing teater make-up.

Cons: my lips feel dry again about an hour after use.

Ok guys I‘m gone run out into friday in my floating dress smelling of roses with pinks lips and freshly manicured nails…just kidding I‘m heading to a night shift. Have a lovely friday you all!

ACO Face Anti Age 25+ Protecting day Cream Review

25kday

Pros:

Affordable and satisfying for basic hydrating needs

Cons:

Too rich during the summer for my combination skin

More:

I really like this day cream. It’s a straight forward moisturizer that protects and satisfies all my every-day needs. It’s not a miracle worker for pimples, scars or pigmentation, but it doesn’t promise that either. Both me (normal/combination skin) and my partner (dry skin) use this cream daily, and will surely buy this again. During the summer this cream was way too rich for my combined skin, and therefor I only use it during the colder months (like very much right now). You all know by now that we have a big obsession with pharmacies – and ACO being a Swedish pharmacy brand is no different- spending our money in a pharmacy in some way just feels more ok to us – like anything you buy in there is never overindulging or can break ones budget – and you always need it. At least thats what we tell outselves when we buy away.

Best Body Lotions for Dry Skin

gisele-bundchen-legs-legs-84f61e770214d328b4a2f38ab9884a7c-large-1484626

This time of the year my legs are dying due to dryness and lack of vitamin D – and all I want is to like Gisele in the picture above. Blogging about beauty for two years has led me through trying tons of lotions and potions, and I have compiled a small list of the best lotions to make you forget of dry skin and getting one step closer to those Gisele – legs (minus the rest of her craziness of course).

1.This Clarins body lotion is my absolute favourite (read review here). I buy it every year (no matter how many lotions I already have at home) – and it never lets me down – it sinks in fast, smells pleasant and most importantly – it makes my skin super soft, even when its beyond dry.

2. Nivea is a favourite of mine: a reliable budget friend I use when my skin needs some extra extra extra hydration – where I don‘t feel uncomfortable wrapping my skin in double layers before I go to bed. Read my full review of the Nivea body cream here.

3. In general I think that Dove makes pretty decent things – they smell nice, have a good quality and the price point is satisfying – I got my hands of this Dove body lotion by chance and was pleasantly surprised – it sinks in fast and makes my skin soooft. And the smell is not classic Dove so nobody will know that you are being on a budget.

4. Ok this list wouldn‘t be complete without some luxurious lotion – one of those that you kind of don‘t want to use because then you know it will make you run out of it – and you dread that – since you won‘t spent that money on it again. That lotion for me is this lily body lotion – smells of heaven and makes my bathroom feel like that of an old rich lady – but in a good way of course.

Hope you enjoy this list and feel free to share your favourites! /Mary

L:A Bruket Lemongrass Hand Wash Review

0110_indie_la-bruket-69_9549

Pros:

Doesn‘t dry out my skin.

Cons:

It‘s heavy price.

More:

My friend was going to sell her a apartment and as tradition entails she got this soap when getting pictures taken of her bathroom/kitchen to make it look a bit stylish/hipster/ buy-me-now worthy.  She got obsessed and recommended it to me (or I washed my hand 10 times during a 2 hour visit and had to get myself my own soap)..

I‘m no stranger to Swedish brand L:A Bruket (read previous reviews here and here) and generally like their things: they smell great, last for long and the packages are very stylish and make my life feel a bit more stylish in that minimalistic Scandi way. My best birthday gift this year was their Grapefruit candle which smells delicious and lasts for ages (and is painfully pricey which is why I would never give it to myself)…My verdict of this hand wash: smells fresh of lemongrass, doesn‘t dry out my skin, lasts for loooong (2-3 months) and for all you soap nerds out there: it‘s cheaper then Aesop (I know there is an expensive hand soap cult out there). Downside: expensive for a hand soap.

The Body Shop British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask Review

Pros:

A good budget alternative.

Cons:

Doesn‘t really have a “WOW what did you do to your face you look gorgeous” effect.

More:

This is the second mask I‘ve used from this series from The Body Shop (read first review here). This mask contains real rose petals, rosehip oil and aloe vera. It promises to moisturise and tone your skin, and I got it thinking it could give my poor face some extra hydration (everything is dry and tired on my body right now, longing for the sun). First and foremost the mask doesn‘t really smell that much of roses, it is a bit sticky but dries in fast, and is pretty easy to remove. I have been using it about 3-4 times a week and praying for miracles. Verdict: yes my face looks more fresh, but nothing spectacular (which I feel after using my favourite flash balm for example). It‘s a good budget alternative, but definetly not the mask I would use on a spa day with my girlfriends where I want to feel luxurious and extra beautiful after layering my face with lotions and potions. It‘s decent hydration but that‘s about it. Also the whole sticking your fingers into a glass jar is just bad design.
