Emma S Cleansing Facial Wash Review

34932

Pros:

Makes my skin feel very fresh and cleanses well – removes all residue of make-up.

Cons:

Can be a bit hard to wash off.

More:

I‘m not a big fan of those wise words pages in fashion magazines: be a strong woman, be independent, be kind blah blah blah. It‘s usually just common sense but in expensive print with a flashy bag commercial next to it. But the other day I came by an interview with Emma S where she was sharing her words of wisdom – and what struck be about her is that she seemed so incredible…sane. Her words were very simple but still resonated with the kind of person I aspire to be (working on it): never speak poorly of other people, don‘t worry so much, always assume the best about others. The only thing I didn‘t agree with was Emma‘s thought on that nothing interesting happens at a party after 2 in the morning…I don‘t agree – usually that‘s when the table dancing begins….So I‘ll skip that one. Back to my review then.

My thoughts on this facial wash: It has a creamy texture, removes all my make-up residue very well and leaves my skin feeling very fresh. I have noticed I‘ve had less break-outs and black spots after I started using this one.  The bottle lasts for a few months which is another positive. Negatives? Can be a bit hard to remove, because it‘s a bit thick.

Revlon Professional Style Masters Double or Nothing Reset Volumizer & refreshing dry shampoo Dry Shampoo Review

revlon-style-masters-double-or-nothing-reset-150ml

Pros:

My hair doesn‘t look greasy the next day after use.

Cons:

The bottle is pretty small considering the price.

More:

I‘ve had so many hormonal problems (both mental and physical hehe…) for many years. One of my hormonal issues is that my hair is ALWAYS fat and people always say don‘t wash it, because if you don‘t do it the fat will disappear – which is a big myth. I‘ve walked around looking like I poured a litre of oil in my hair for many years now, and have of course tried several different remedies. I‘ve tested several dry shampoos, which work for a dry max, and the next day my hair is back to its original oily state.

The big plus of this dry shampoo is that the spray consists of many small particles, which makes it less visible and more evenly divided into my hair upon spraying. You can use it both on dark and blond hair, because of the tiny particles so you can‘t see the shampoo in your hair. The next day my hair feels natural and not fat at all, and I don‘t have to rush to wash it. Another big plus is the smell – it remind me of a perfume a distant relative used to use, which makes me nostalgic – but I also love that it smells so good. The only minus is that the package is pretty small (though that also could be a plus if you want to travel with it).

Alterna Caviar Style Waves Texture Sea Salt Spray Review

101209189

Pros:

Gives that perfect post beach hair look.

Cons:

You have to wash your hair the same night – because the spray leaves a lot of residue in it.

More:

I‘m dreaming of beaches and the sun – waiting for those rays of warmth is just easier when you surround yourself with some stuff helping the pretending a bit along the way. This salt spray is one of them…I love having salty hair – I don‘t care it dries out my hair and that my hair takes ages to recover after a week on the beach – it is still worth it.

This spray gives my hair instant volume, creates good curls and transforms me to a beach afterparty (instead of the train home from work after a grey day). The minus of this spray is that once you use it you have to wash your hair – the next day your hair is just full of residue and looks like crap.

Revlon Uniq One Dry Shampoo Review

revlon-uniq-one-dry-shampoo-300ml

Pros:

Doesn‘t leave any white residue.

Cons:

Makes my hair crazy electric.

More:

This dry shampoo doesn‘t grease my hair, as they sometimes can do. It holds its promises that it puts on the front (to refresh and revive/absorb exces oils/adds volume/natural finish…), and most importantly it does not leave white residue. On the downside is that it leaves your hair static electric, and if you have a bit thin hair – like I do, that is not great. I basically use it, brush my hair and leave it in a bun. Wearing it loose is not a possibility, with the crazy electric hair. So basically if you have grease-prone hair, and don‘t want your scalp to show when you wear a bun, this is good before you put it in a bun. The biggest plus for me though (with my thin hair) – is that it gives my hair great volume.

ACO Rescue Mist Review

8809754591262

Pros:

Can be spritzed on top of my make-up without ruining it.

Cons:

The mist smells a bit strong.

More:

Now is the time of the year that my skin starts getting very dry and needs some extra hydration – and I know I‘m certainly not alone in that. I like easy solutions and this spray has been one of them – a few spritz before bedtime, and after a few days use I noticed that my skin looked and felt both more smooth and well hydrated (and well-rested – despite my stressed brain allowing me very little sleep!). The spray contains vitamin C – which is supposed to boost hydration – so I‘m all game. Also I appreciate the price – it is friendly to my wallet (especially not that it is saving up for a fab Gucci tote).

What minuses does the spray have? The smell. Being a pharmacy sold brand, I kind of expected the smell of the spray to be next to nothing, and therefore it feels a bit over the top and very “perfumy”. I would prefer if this spray was odourless.

d:fi #styletoparty Dry Shampoo Review

d-fi-dry-shampoo-300ml-p9035-11251_image

Pros:

Smells great of pineapple!

Cons:

Doesn‘t do it if you want to use this dry shampoo to “clean” your hair (instead of a small instant fix pre going out into the world…)

More:

As the cover suggests (#styletoparty) this dry shampoo is great before a party, to spritz up your hairdo and make it worth-stand the sweaty dance floor. Plus its pineapple scent preps you for all the pina coladas coming for the night! Just a little wiff in clean hair will give extra volume and for off grease for all the night. But if you get greasy hair 24 hours after washing, it won‘t do. It doesn‘t really clean in depth, so to use for cleaning you would have to use a big amount, and that ends up greasing too much, and leaving residue…

Revlon Be Fabulous End Repairing Serum Review

revlon-be-fabulous-hair-recovery-ends-repair-serum

Pros:

Makes my split ends look more “healthy” and taken care off.

Cons:

You need a lot per use of this serum.

More:

Split ends is one of my biggest hair issues (except a DIY blond dye which keeps me up at night), so I jump onto any product which promises to help! I have been using this serum both in wet and dry hair, with equally satisfying effect. The serum is absorbed very fast and makes my split ends more soft, hides away frizz in my hair and has a great overall effect. With overall effect I mean that my hair looks very sleek and much more healthy then it actually is (by actually is I count the time since I last visited a hairdresser for a trim).

REVLON PROFESSIONAL BE FABULOUS HAIR RECOVERY Shampoo For DAMAGED HAIR REVIEW

16457eac20051bb5ee2416ea13d9a32d

Pros:

Nice package.

Cons:

No effect on my dry and damaged hair.

More:

I have my Revlon favourites – and this one is not one of them unfortunately.  Just like the conditioner (read review here) – my hair gets greasy after two days of use, and I simply don‘t see any effect on my beyond dry hair (which is crying for help). My split ends are just the same – and even though I think my hair looks pretty sleak the first two days after use, I hate when it gets greasy on the third day. I think the package is nice, and the smell although a bit synthetic – nice too..But I would not repurchase this one, and will continue to look for another remedy for my very dry and tired hair.

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser Review

s1108240-main-zoom

Pros:

No problems with break-outs despite its heavy texture.

Cons:

Smells of detergent.

More:

My mum gave me this cleanser for christmas – in a smaller package (30 ml). That lasted me about 2,5 months – which I think is good. The cleanser feels more like a cream, and you need a lot per use and a lot of water to make it foam. It smells a bit like detergent (sorry stole this anomaly from a review on makeup alley) – which is unpleasant but leaves my skin feeling clean, though not very soft. I haven‘t had any problems with break-outs while using this cleanser, which the detergent smell made me fear – happy about that.

Clarins either make fantastic stuff (face oil and the beauty flash balm) or things which are pretty horrid to ones skin (their face mask). This face cleanser lands somewhere in the middle – its not that great – it can even feel luxurious if you are into the “heavy” make-up and beauty stuff – but if you like lightness and herbal smells this is not for you.
