GlamGlow Flashmud Brightening Treatment Review

i-022313-flashmud-brightening-treatment-1-940

Pros:

A good quick fix for dull skin.

Cons:

Not any “WOW” factor at all.

More:

This is my first GlamGlow product – I have occasionally passed their stand at Sephora – but not given it much thought. But after my Himalayan charcoal mask ran out I decided to give mud another go – even though I‘m a big sceptic. This mask is packed with ingredients I can‘t even pronounce – all promising the same things – bright, light and luminous skin.

My verdict: the mask dries in fast, which is practical, you only need to leave it on for about 10 minutes and the effect is pretty instant. I do think my skin looks very bright after use – and use this mask as a quick fix before heading out. Is it some kind of miracle that totally changed the texture and look of my skin? Absolutely not. It‘s good but not amazing – so I won‘t repurchase it again.

Vichy Slow Age Daily Cream Review

vichy-slow-age-28169

Pros:

Has an spf of 30!! (wohoo)

Cons:

No idea if it makes me “wrinkle free” (don‘t think so!)

More:

My new serum (review coming up), requires me to wear sunscreen daily. Now a confession – never done that before, and I know, its horrible for my skin and just by getting this cream I feel like a person who takes responsibility for my own skin (like having a blog where I spend 50% of the time telling readers what NOT to buy isn‘t responsible enough). This cream is for people in the ages of 30-40 (I‘m 29, started early), and promises to prevent early signs of ageing.

Now I know, that botox is probably the only way to go if you want a wrinkle free face, so I have to say that I really can‘t judge if this cream has made my face look more “wrinkle-free” in the past months…But I can judge how it makes my skin feel: answer pretty decent, like not WOW, but not a big NOOO either. More of something in the middle, something like : this is a decent cream, hydrates my skin very well, gets absorbed pretty fast and the price is reasonable. Major plus is the spf of 30, and that a jar lasts a life-time (6 months minimum).

Philosophy Renewed Hope In a Jar Moisturiser Review

i-020582-renewed-hope-day-moisturiser-60ml-1-940

Pros:

The texture of the cream is smooth and silky, souffle like just as described.

Cons:

This is more of a summer moisturiser not giving enough of hydration to dry skin in rough climates.

More:

I actually won this moisturiser in a give-away on one of my favourite beauty bloggers Madeleine loves . I have picked up the hype surrounding this cream from here and there, but never actually tried anything from Philosophy. This cream is for all skin types – which can be a bit worrying (oily and dry skin have extremely different needs in my head no?). I have combined skin (oily T-zone, dry rest of the face) and this cream works good for me during the “not too cold” months and when I use a hydrating serum. I like the souffle like texture which is both oily and light (though a bit separated, watery like ), that it gets absorbed quick and that my skin feels hydrated after use. But this is no miracle cream, and the price is outrageous for what you get. A jar is just unhygienic too. The promise of demise signs of ageing and “rough” texture – I‘m not really sure if I‘ve seen any of that, my skin is well-hydrated but that is all.

Also, after I started using this cream my skin has felt more clogged, and I‘ve had more blackheads then usual – I‘m not sure if it‘s due to my diet, other parts of my routine or if it‘s the cream though.

Origins Flower Fusion Rose Hydrating Sheet Mask Review

s1916311-main-zoom

Pros:

My skin feels and looks radiant and smooth (as a baby‘s behind) after use.

Cons:

Struggles to stay on my face aka I‘m not very mobile wearing this one (usually I like to do my house chords wearing one of these, can‘t really do it with this one on).

More:

So I have noticed a big absence of reviews of sheet masks online, which I intend to change. I understand that it is hard to review something that you probably only used once (cause part of the fun is using a new mask each time), but since the cost per use is so expensive I‘d like to read some reviews before I make my purchase – especially since I buy most of my sheet masks online, where they are much cheaper then in store. So yes, the quality of my reviews on these might not be brilliant – since its most often a one time experience review, but its better then nothing.

So what did I think of this one: 1. it smells lovely of rose 2. its not very well fitting (some sheets just stay glued to your face – so you can easily move around and do your chords while having one on). 3. My face doesn‘t feel very sticky after use, which I love – hate feeling like I have glue on my face. 4. The effect: splendid, super much hydration, and my skin feels extremely smooth and model-like after use – big win! 5. The effect lasts for a few days, which I love.

I think the cost for these are ok, they are cheaper then the Korean sheet masks sold in my local store so they are a nice alternative to that.

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum Review

1085298

Pros:

The pump bottle is hygenic.

Cons:

Doesn‘t diminish my wrinkles.

More:

I love the commercial for this serum – it kind of takes deceiving the customer (me) – to a new level. It promises to reduce 5 signs of ageing by 50% or more in 12 weeks – which is wrinkles, lines , dark spots, lifting, uneven skin tone..I find this deceiving because honestly I think we all know by now, that the only way to reduce your lines and wrinkles is by botox or other cosmetic procedure –  yes a serum can lift your skin, give you loads of moisture and make you look fresh – but it won‘t take years off your face.

So what did I think? First and foremost, I expect a lot of hydration and toning from my serums – all I got from this one was some tiiiiiny extra hydration but not at all anything extraordinary. Secondly, all those promises about the disappearance of wrinkles and lines – that just didn‘t happen. In fact since this serum provided me with so much less hydration then the other serums I have used have, my skin looked more gloom, dehydrated and my wrinkles more apparent. Conclusion – will never repurchase this serum again.

AVÈNE TRIXERA NUTRI-FLUIDE LOTION REVIEW

trixeraixera

Pros:

Gets absorbed very fast.

Cons:

It smells a bit of a pharmacy.

More:

One of the most important things for me when choosing a good lotion, is that it gets absorbed fast. My apartment has a lot of windows (and way too few curtains) and I don‘t have time to walk around naked waiting for my lotion to dry..This lotion really doesn‘t let me down. I have to give it maximum 3 seconds to dry and I‘m ready to go (whom am I kidding – I‘m ready to run cause I‘m always running late somewhere)..The result: my skin feels very smooth after use (I can feel a big difference after my first use), and the lotion is definitely “fat” enough to be used during the coldest months of the year. The bottle says you can use it on your face too – but I save my face for my sheet masks and serums..The minus: the smell, it smells a bit of a pharmacy, but luckily the smell doesn‘t linger on for too long.

Verdict: I think this lotion of wallet friendly since you need little per use, so the bottle lasts for a long time plus I like that it gives my skin hydration and makes it soft, but most importantly – that it gets absorbed very quick.

ACO Body Lotion Moist Review

aco_bodylotionmoist_parf_400ml

Pros:

You get a lot for your money.

Cons:

The smell is very neutral, I would have preferred a stronger smell for a feel of luxury – but depends on what you are locking for.

More:

I love that this body lotion comes in a huge package (400 ml to cover my voluptuous body) and that it comes as a pump bottle – making it very easy to use – and hygienic. It gets absorbed instantly, gives good hydration (not the best I tried but decent). The smell is pretty ok too, very very discreet. So verdict – this is a very decent and budget friendly body lotion where you get a good effect and amount for the money.

Vichy Ideal Body Serum-milk Review

3019212

Pros:

Makes my skin super smooth.

Cons:

You can‘t read the ingredients list before you buy the package.

More:

I try to read the reviews of others before writing my own – not to get reassured of my opinion, but rather to make sure I don‘t miss any important thoughts on the products I review – which is how I came across the fact (which hadn‘t hit me) – that on this bottle you can‘t read the ingredients list before purchasing the bottle. It is one of those sticky “pull off” paper so you can‘t read it while in the store without “damaging” the package a bit. There are many products which are designed like this, and knowing how much more aware we are today of the ingredients of what we put on our skin – this form of packaging is a big no NOOO.

Anyways back to this body lotion – it is very thin in consistency, gets absorbed immediately and leaves my skin super soft. This lotion feels very luxurious upon application and the smell is very discreet. About the ingredients list – I‘m not an expert on this topic – it contains rosehip oil, and everything based on the Vichy water I trust (as I said I have very little education on this particular topic…).

ACO Anti Age Filling Night Cream Review

aco-face-anti-age-40-plus-night-cream-normal-skin-50-ml-0

Pros:

Gets absorbed instantly.

Cons:

Doesn‘t give enough of hydration to my winter dry skin.

More:

I have been a fan of ACOs budget friendliness for years. The design of this cream feels very luxurious – love the dark color, which makes the jar look expensive and it looks good on my bathroom shelf. The texture of the cream is very light and the smell is discreet but very pleasant (a bit of fresia and spring I think). Since the cream is very light it gets easily absorbed. I have dry skin and used it during this winter – and could feel that I lacked a bit of that extra hydration. I think it‘s more of a spring/summer cream. But my skin feels smooth after use, I have not yet noticed if my fine lines are less visible (which is also promised by this cream). Overall I think that this cream is a stylish wallet friendly option.
