Maria Nila True Soft Masque Review

maria-nila-true-soft-masque-3

Pros:

100% vegan ingredients.

Cons:

Smells a big heavy.

More:

I must admit that one knows that life is great when one of your “problems” is that your hair is too dry and coarse. Seriously I feel ridiculous even now – writing that this is a “problem”. But anyways – those of you following the blog know that my hair plays me loads of tricks and I‘m constantly on the lock-out for new stuff to make it look like I have a Kate Middleton stylist following me (the stylist would have to be a hippy and free soul though – Kate‘s hair is way too perfect in my opinion).

I have never tried anything from Swedish Maria Nila before but was pretty impressed with the following: their stuff is produced in Sweden (yey), contain 100% vegan ingredient and are free of sulphates and parabens.

This mask is very creamy, smells nice (though a bit heavy) and makes my hair super super smooth, plus you need very little per use. I really enjoy when you apply a masque and can feel how your hair becomes super easy to detangle and smooth within minutes.  It‘s a keeper for me – if your hair is pretty fluffy from the beginning it might not have the effect you wish though.

JOICO CURL CRÈME WASH SULFATE-FREE CO+WASH Review

Pros:

Using this gave me some nicely defined curls.

Cons:

My split ends still needed some oil.

More

This is a whole new type of hair product for me. This is both a mask and a leave-in treatment which has different directions of use depending on what hair type you have. You use it to get nice curls and make all that frizz vanish. It basically promises that your curls will become perfect. Verdict: I used it as a hair mask, and not as a leave-in product (which is an option if you have thick hair), my curls have been perfect since I started to use it, and they have stayed that way for about 5 days straight – yes I wash my hair every fifth day. My hair feels soft, but my split ends are not happy and still require a lot of oil. The package is huge and will last me for about 8 months.

ALTERNA CAVIAR REPAIR MICRO-BEAD FILL & FIX TREATMENT MASQUE REVIEW

Pros:

Makes my hair very soft.

Cons:

The price (is pretty crazy).

More:

This mask has a very creamy texture, it is almost like putting pudding in your hair (but in a nice comfortable way – not the weird “I like food on my body” way). Using it, is supposed to give one more shiny and soft hair, which it does. You are supposed to leave it on for 3 minutes, and sometimes I stretch it to 10, but usually the result is pretty much the same. It doesn‘t help your hair to gain volume or a certain (un-troll-like) shape, and if your ends are very dry you will need some extra oil or leave-in love, therefore it is not fully worth its price.

Review of Alterna Caviar Anti-aging Bodybuilding Volume Shampoo and Conditioner

s-l300

Pros:

Gives as fantastic volume (which lasts a couple of days..)

Cons:

The price.

More:

I have naturally big hair, so volume has never been a problem, still I want a more “polished volume” look. Volume that looks like Im in control, not like a just woke up, which is why I tried this shampoo and conditioner.

First and foremost, they are free of pharabens, sulfates and phtaletes (but their list of ingredients is still pretty looong). After use my hair really gained a more controlled volume, and it stays that way til I was my hair next time, which is five days later. I use it with my new best friend, to give my split ends some love. Also you need very little per use.

Since I want to give you, dear readers, a fair review I forced this shampoo and conditioner upon my mum, who has short and pretty flat hair- just to test how her hair would react. Her verdict is that you can see extra volume added, though for her it only lasts a few days, and that her hair feels more “take care off”…BUT she got a dry scalp after using this combo the first time.

Overall: if you want to treat your hair to some volume, buy this expensive combo, otherwise stay tuned for more reviews of hair products coming up (or come back to my blog next week and there will be a small hair surprise for a lucky reader..)

HH Simonsen True Divinity Hair Straightener Review

hh-simonsen-true-divinity-straightening-iron-chrome_postme_0008621

Pros:

That it switches itself off if not used for 60 minutes.

Cons:

Price

More:

I am super proud of my crazy lion hair. But sometimes I prefer going for the sleeker, more sophisticated look and I let my hair tag along for the transformation. I remember first time I straightened my hair. It was in the Dominican Republic during a holiday. Girls over there go to salons religiously, and straight hair is the deal. I do not understand all the hype of having your hair reduced to twice its normal size, but I do enjoy the male attention. I dont know what it is, but men just seem to like us with straight hair better (please do comment if you agree or disagree with this statement).

Anyways, being a big fan of their hairbrushes  I decided to try the hair straightener from Danish HH Simonsen. It is quit pricy, but I see it as an investment, helping me to get more male attention and feeling like a power woman with power hair (yes unfortunately in that order). First and foremost, I love the fact that the straightener switches itself off if not used for 60 minutes. If you are paranoid, like me, and walk around thinking you forgot to lock your front door/close the window/turn off the oven half of the day, this product was made for you (thank you HH Simonsen, for targeting the obsessive compulsive of our population). Also I think my hair looked quit natural and straightening it, did not make it dry, which I have experienced in the past. I think it is very important that your hair does not feel like sand paper after straightening it, making yourself pretty while causing your hair so much damage is just not worth it.

My hair stays straight next day and even looks good the next day. The straightener works pretty fast aka you are not scared of burning off you hair, so my verdict is that this is a reliable electronic device and you can trust it with your hair.

Orofludio Shampoo and Conditioner Review

61kvbambfxl-_sy355_

Pros:

Makes your hair light, soft and easy to de-tangle.

Cons:

No extra shine or silkiness as promised.

More:

It’s winter and my hair hates me, it doesn’t do anything I want it to: it turns dry after I spend 2 hours with my head down in a jar of coconut oil, it looks crazy when I need to look composed and it seems dirty when its newly washed and vice versa. I tried these products as a last cry for help, because the oil from Orofluido saved me, I thought maybe so can the shampoo and conditioner.

I’m not gone lie, I has ridicoulasy high expectations, this as I mentioned, because the oil from the same company is amazing and so is the smell of it (so amazing that your boyfriends texts you just to say you smell good).

This shampoo and conditioner promise to make your hair silky, loose, shiny, easy to detangle and light.

I can only speak for these two as a pack, since I use them together. The conditioner has a very nice, rich texture, and detangles your hair straight away. I feels like using a mask. After washing my hair, its indeed very light, soft and easy to manage, no crazy unsymmetrical curls which I sometimes get from using cheap and bad shampoos. You also don’t need much per wash, which is a plus.

The minuses are that the shampoo and conditioner don’t smell as great of vanilla and amber as the oil from the same line, they smell “the same” but lack some of the sweetness of the original scent. Also I don’t see any extra shine or silkiness, but then again I’m in a hopeless winter hair situation right now.
