ACO Face Refreshing Cleansing Lotion Review

Pros:

Does what it says on the bottle

Cons:

Stings a bit on sensitive areas of my skin

More:

I use this cleanser in the morning or in the evening as a second cleanser after make-up removal. I just massage I into my skin and then remove it with a warm and soaked little towel. This is a really affordable cleansing lotion that should work well if your skin isn’t too sensitive. Unfortunately, this one tend to irritate my reactive skin, even if it does settle fast. Which is a bit annoying.

Garnier Pure Active Purifying Cleansing Wipes Review

Pros:

Cheap and effective.

Cons:

Doesn‘t remove mascara soo well (I‘ve woken up with panda eyes quit a few times wondering where my hangover was to match my eyes?!).

More:

Some beauty bloggers talk about their evening take-off make-up regime like it‘s some kind of religious experience. For me it‘s just “how to I get this over with so I can dive into bed asap”. Therefore I always feel like cheating and sometimes skip the cleanser and just use the tonic (bad bad bad for you!), but I remind myself of that it‘s my duty as a beauty blogger to take good care of my skin and most day I do all my steps like a good blogger. But for those days when I cheat I love using wipes, it takes a second and voila you can run into bed. These wipes are cheap. The package is super heavy so you can‘t really bring them with you when travelling unless you have unlimited luggage. They take off most make-up well (concealer, blush, lipstick..can‘t speak of foundation since I don‘t use it), except mascara. Taking of mascara is ok for the eyes (no itching) but seriously I haven‘t gotten it all off a single time, and have woken up looking like a tired panda – not my best look. But still I like these wipes due to an ok quality considering their price.

Review of Emma S Cleansing Oil

EMMAe_0065-CleansingOil-470x627

Pros:

Takes away make-up very well and can be used as a “semi-oil”.

Cons:

You get a lot of oil per pump.

More:

This is my first cleansing oil (this blog contains many firsts and I am very happy to have you with me on this adventure of beauty dear readers).

First and foremost I really love the smell of this oil, the smell reminds me of my grandmothers creams and sun oils, and therefore lazy summer days spent on the country side. Secondly it works great on my skin. Normally my skin likes to break out when I use oils, but I have not noticed anything like that, using this cleansing oil. Sometimes when I feel like I need a break from my evening routine I just use this cleanser, and no tonic afterwards and skip the creams, and the result is my skin still feels hydrated. It removes make-up very well (even when you accidentally smudge mascara on your forehead). The only minus is the price and that you get much more then needed per pump.

Garnier Pure Active Make-up Remover Gel Review

Pros:

Doesn’t contain perfume. Removes long lasting make-up.

Cons:

Totally dries out my skin. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Can’t be good for the skin!

More:

I’ve had my trouble with oily skin and imperfections. When you’re at that phase of life (read: teenager) where your face is invaded by several huge, red zits that take over your normal appearance, you’ll do anything – seriously ANYTHING – to get rid of the red craters in your face. Therefore, I’ve tried my share of anti acne/oily skin/imperfections products. I have used tons of money to find the product that would magically cure the breakouts and make my skin even in colour and surface.

I’m now in my twenties and past those years (thank God), but I still experience some breakouts from time to time. When I stumbled upon Garnier’s Pure Active, I thought: Why not try it out?
The section: “Is Garnier Pure Active Purifying Make Up Remover Gel right for me?” confirmed that this product would be OK for my skin even though my skin also has other “characteristics”.
I decided that I would use it for cleansing skin when I experienced breakouts now and then.

The Purifying Make-Up Remover Gel claims to be a “2 in 1” because it both removes make-up and cleanses. It claims to:

  • Rinse in depth
  • Target imperfections
  • Effectively unclog pores
  • Helps to clear shine and impurities
  • Helps protect against the appearance of imperfections
  • Remove all traces of make-up, even waterproof

Now, to the conclusions:
The Garnier Pure Active make-up remover gel dried out my skin like nothing before. My face felt stiff and totally stripped from healthy natural oils. I rushed to my most moisturising facial cream to restore the balance, and I threw the product away immediately. I’ve never tried anything like that. Without being a dermatologist, but having researched the topic, I don’t believe that this remover gel is good for anyone – even if your skin is very oily and filled with imperfections. I’m sure that there’s some products out there that will help regulate the skin and minimise imperfections, but this is not it.

Yes it’s cheap, and yes it removes make-up, but that’s about it.

I DO NOT recommend this product to anyone!

Chanel: Gentle Biphase Eye Makeup Remover‏

Pros:

Did not leave the area around my eyes feeling oily afterwards.

Cons:

I really had to rub my mascara off.

More:

I bought this product wanting to really indulge myself, hoping that an expensive and luxurious eye-make-up remover would make my evening routine a more pleasant experience. To express myself kindly I can say it did not live up to my expectations. I use waterproof mascara. I still had to rub for a longer period of time to remove all the make-up, making my eyes soar and I even lost eye-lashes. The good thing about this product is that it did not make the area around my eyes as oily as many other products.
