Nivea Urban Skin Detox Night Gel Cream Review

product_v1_x1

Pros:

Leaves skin soft and sleek the day after.

Cons:

Leaves a film on skin, not for daytime use.

More:

My skin is self-sufficient in the summer, winter on the other hand is a whole other story! A dermatologist once told me, that my winter breakouts where due to in part, need of exfoliation and need of moisture. Northern winter air, is void of humidity, so skin looses its moisture in the tough winter air.  This year I decided to work hard to reapply moisture, never giving up! I am trying out this night gel cream at the moment, applying it every night before bed time. And I wake up with soft skin the next day.. But dont use it during day time, as it kind of puts a film on your skin, that needs to be washed of before makeup. I dont feel the detox yet, but also not really sure how thats supposed to feel. Smell is quite unisex, maybe even a tiny bit masculine. Which is nice for a single girl, cause then I have sweet dreams of a man sleeping next to me..

Nivea Gentle Facial Cleaning Wipes Review

0197685_l

Pros:

Takes off make-up easily and is cheap.

Cons:

My skin gets a bit irritated when I‘ve used these too many days in a row.

More:

It wasn‘t until a year ago that I got myself into the wet wipes – too many tired evenings, and after being recommended these  by a friend I was hocked. I‘ve since being doing wet wipes on a budget (read my Garnier wet wipes review here) and when I was in Berlin I got a package of these Nivea goodies. I don‘t know what and how – but beauty products in Germany are sooo much cheaper. These cost nothing and I‘ve been very happy about them.

First and foremost – I‘m a big fan of Nivea in general – I like their nice smell and think they make genius products for a low price. These wet wipes smell good, remove make-up well and are cheap. I think they remove lipstick, blush and concealer very well – but could be better at removing mascara. They don‘t irritate my eyes, but after using them for more then 3 days in a row I noticed that my skin got a bit irritated. No rash or anything but I just felt how it was bursting to break out. But in general I like these – they are a good budget alternativ – and NO I‘m not sponsored by Nivea, just excited when I find something that‘s good and happens to be cheap as well.

Best Body Lotions for Dry Skin

gisele-bundchen-legs-legs-84f61e770214d328b4a2f38ab9884a7c-large-1484626

This time of the year my legs are dying due to dryness and lack of vitamin D – and all I want is to like Gisele in the picture above. Blogging about beauty for two years has led me through trying tons of lotions and potions, and I have compiled a small list of the best lotions to make you forget of dry skin and getting one step closer to those Gisele – legs (minus the rest of her craziness of course).

1.This Clarins body lotion is my absolute favourite (read review here). I buy it every year (no matter how many lotions I already have at home) – and it never lets me down – it sinks in fast, smells pleasant and most importantly – it makes my skin super soft, even when its beyond dry.

2. Nivea is a favourite of mine: a reliable budget friend I use when my skin needs some extra extra extra hydration – where I don‘t feel uncomfortable wrapping my skin in double layers before I go to bed. Read my full review of the Nivea body cream here.

3. In general I think that Dove makes pretty decent things – they smell nice, have a good quality and the price point is satisfying – I got my hands of this Dove body lotion by chance and was pleasantly surprised – it sinks in fast and makes my skin soooft. And the smell is not classic Dove so nobody will know that you are being on a budget.

4. Ok this list wouldn‘t be complete without some luxurious lotion – one of those that you kind of don‘t want to use because then you know it will make you run out of it – and you dread that – since you won‘t spent that money on it again. That lotion for me is this lily body lotion – smells of heaven and makes my bathroom feel like that of an old rich lady – but in a good way of course.

Hope you enjoy this list and feel free to share your favourites! /Mary

Review of Nivea Soft face/body/hand cream

Pros:

Helps all dry skin, even the peeling one.

Cons:

Takes long time to dry and due to the thick consistency impossible to only use a thin layer.

More:

I have used this cream for the past 10 years, at least. I think most of us have tried it at some point and recognise “the Nivea” smell. I even use it on my lips when they get horribly dry, it tastes horrible and Im not sure I recommend it to anybody else, but it helps me.

This cream is thick, so its impossible to apply a thin layer, and therefore it takes it a long time to dry. But it helps re-hydrating dry skin, no matter what state its in. Its really fat and I usually use it as my last resource on my peeling legs after vacation. Due to the cheap price I’m generous with the stars.
