Revlon Be Fabulous Fine Hair Volumizing Spray Review

volume_hair_spray

Pros:

Gives my hair nice structure…

Cons:

…and more volume (though not as much as one could expect)..

More:

I have very fine hair – and of course dream of volume (why can‘t one just be happy with what one‘s got?!)..This spray gives my hair more volume (not crazy much but enough) and texture (aka it doesn‘t “fly around” as much – as it usually does)..It smells very nice of perfume, not chemical or of candy – which I really appreciate.

I have in the past experienced rashes from volume sprays – but not from this one – even though I spray it on like 15 – 20 sprays daily.

Revlon 45 Days Total Color Care 2in1 Stunning Highlights Review

revlon-45-days-total-color-care-conditioning-shamp

Pros:

I can postpone a visit to the hairdresser with 10 days using this one.

Cons:

Smells a bit synthetic.

More:

I can finally write this review – since today I have actually used this shampoo for 50 days. I have short colored hair and have been experiencing the same problem over and over again – after a hair cut I‘m happy and satisfied with my hair – until after about 4 weeks the color starts to fade and my hair starts looking pretty “dull”. Since I simply can‘t afford to color my hair once a month (don‘t think its healthy either) – I usually walk around with “tired/dull” hair for another couple of weeks. So I was pretty excited but also sceptical to trying this new shampoo.

The shampoo is sulfate free which I really like. Sulfate is usually hard to completely remove from the hair, which makes my hair dry and irritates my scalp – which of course I hate. So I could definitely feel that this shampoo was sulfur free since there was no thick mass of shampoo that one had to wash out. The easiest and cheapest way for brands to create lathering shampoo is by adding sulphates. This shampoo doesn‘t lather – like shampoos usually do – and that can feel a bit unusual but one gets used to it after a couple of weeks. One also gets used to the blue/silver color, and that the shampoo smells a bit of chemicals. So I felt a bit frightened applying it in my hair – but decided to give it a 50 days chance.

I‘m satisfied with this shampoo, since my hair still looks “respectable” ( equals less dull) and the color looks totally ok – which means that I can wait another extra 10 days before heading to the hairdresser – which is great.

The shampoo doesn‘t give me a feeling of luxury due to its smell and color. Since it doesn‘t lather I use more per wash then I would have with a lathering shampoo (I think it‘s just the innate feeling of my hair won‘t get clean if it does‘t lather).

The shampoo is supposed to give UV protection – I haven‘t been able to explore that since its been freezing and grey outside. It also protects agains heat which is a plus.

Alterna Caviar INTENSE OIL CRÈME SHAMPOO and Deep Conditioner Review

1

Pros:

I can go a week without washing my hair when using this duo.

Cons:

I still need to use my oils to make my hair soft.

More:

I have mixed feeling about this duo – being a huge fan of expensive but “oh soo effective” Alterna I had huge expectations. First and foremost this shampoo and conditioner smell great, they are a bit hard to wash out and lather well. What about the result? Well when using these two I can go for 1 week without washing my hair and it still looks great on the last days. It‘s not very easy to detangle and I don‘t feel that extra moisture which is promised – leaving me a bit disappointed.

Revlon Professional Uniq One Lotus Flower Treatment review

Pros:

Gives my hair great volume, makes it more smooth and silky.

Cons:

Hasn‘t really prevented any split ends on my part.

More:

My hair is suffering from a serious winter depression – and the winter hasn‘t started yet. It‘s only been 2,5 months since (the summer) my last hair cut, and it already looks bruised and battered, basically like i‘ve been washing it in petroleum for the past months – lifeless, tired, dry, frizzy and no volume. I have to admit that I too have been lazy and not doing my best, barely used oils, hair masks and treatments because I simply don‘t have time, patience or the belief that using a helmet daily (I bike to work) my hair can look anything but OK. So waiting for my appointment at a very fancy hair salon (Saturday please do come sooooon) I have been using this Lotus flower treatment – and I kind of like it. First and foremost it‘s so easy to just spray it on and run, no fuss with waiting for a certain amount of time etc. Secondary, I see an instant effect, which means everything right now (to my hair and self-esteem): my hair gains more volume, is easier to detangle, more shiny and definitely more silky. I also really like that the effect of the spray lasts several days and that it doesn‘t make my hair greasy or dirty. What I don‘t like: the spray promises split end prevention, and though it makes my split ends look more silky and shiny, it has definitely not prevented the birth of new split ends, they just keep on coming…

Revlon Professional: Uniq one hair treatment

Pros:

Easy and quick to use. My hair gets silky and easy to comb through.

Cons:

Might be a bit “overkill”.

More:

The Uniq One All in One Hair Treatment from Revlon is a nice alternative if you don’t want to over-complicate your hair maintenance.

This is what it promises to do:

1 REPAIR FOR DRY & DAMAGED HAIR.

2 SHINE & FRIZZ CONTROL.

3 HEAT PROTECTION.

4 SILKINESS & SMOOTHNESS.

5 HAIR COLOR PROTECTION / WITH UVA & UVB FILTERS.

6 EASIER BRUSHING & IRONING.

7 INCREDIBLE DETANGLING.

8 LONG-LASTING HAIRSTYLE.

9 SPLIT ENDS PREVENTION.

10 ADDS BODY.

The Hair Treatment is good for protecting your hair (e.g. when blow drying it or using a flattening/curling iron). It makes my hair very soft (easy to comb through) and smooth. It’s also supposed to protect against the sun with UVA/UVB filters (looking forward to trying it out when the summer comes).

I don’t feel that it “adds body” to my hair, and I have a hard time measuring whether it actually helps on preventing split ends. But it does make my hair very soft and easy to detangle.

The bottle is pretty standard with a spray functionality, which makes it easy to apply to hair.

If you want a hair treatment that not only makes your hair soft and healthy, but also protects it from heat, sun, etc. I would recommend this product.

Revlon Professional: All in one conditioning shampoo review

Pros:

Works as a shampoo and a conditioner and leaves my hair soft and easy to comb through

Cons:

My hair gets a bit greasy/”heavy” on the 2nd day after using (but I also tend to get greasy hair)

More:

The Uniq One All in One Conditioning Shampoo from Revlon is a nice 2-in-1 alternative if you don’t want to over-complicate your hair washing routine. You get one bottle, with one conditioning shampoo that you can apply once in the shower and then you’re good to go.

Normally, I like to separate my shampoo and conditioner, because I tend to get greasy hair, and everyone with greasy hair knows that conditioner should only go in the ends of your hair – NOT on the scalp. Therefore, I was a bit sceptical when I started to use this conditioning shampoo. Luckily, the shampoo turned out to work fine for me. It’s actually kind of nice that I can just do everything at once, with one “soap” without having to add shampoo – rub in – wash – add conditioner – rub in – wait – wash. However, my hair do have a small tendency to get greasy a little bit faster than usual with this shampoo.

Also, people with dry, damaged hair might need more cair, fx. a hairmask once or twice a week to complement this shampoo.

That said, it’s great for doing what it’s supposed to, it washes my hair and scalp, makes my hair silky and smooth, it doesn’t weight my hair down and my hair is easy to manage. A 300 ml bottle lasts for around four months when washing every second day.

Review of Style Masters Hairspray Modular 2

Pros:

Serves like a hairspray without adding weight. Easy to comb through after applying

Cons:

I don’t see a great effect using this

More:

The Modular Hairspray from REVLON Style Masters “Allows you to control the degree of hold in a hairstyle according to the amount applied, without adding weight.” (from the Hairspray description).

I agree that this hairspray does not add weight to my hair, which is nice. Some hairsprays completely take over my hair’s normal structure and transforms my hair into a stiff monster. This is not the case with the Style Masters hairspray. On the contrary: It leaves my hair easy to comb through after applying. Unfortunately, it is like I didn’t apply the hairspray, if I comb my hair afterwards. Also, I feel that the effect of the hairspray quickly disappears after applying.

I mostly use hairspray for adding volume to my hair, and this might be more of a hold hairspray. If you want to apply extra volume and some hold to your loose hair, fx when going to a party, I would not recommend this hairspray. If you, however, are looking for a light hairspray where your hair can easily be combed through, this might be it for you.

Review of REVLON PROFESSIONAL Sebum Balance Shampoo

Pros:

Makes my hair soft and light

Cons:

I don’t see the best results doing what it’s supposed to do: Regulating my oily scalp

More:

The REVLON Sebum Balance Shampoo claims to leave your hair light and balanced by purifying my scalp and regulating sebum production. In case you didn’t know, sebum is “an oily secretion of the sebaceous glands” (Google, 2015). It’s this oiliness that my scalp produces, that I’ve tried to minimise. The thing is that if I wash my hair on Monday morning before heading off to work, my hair is already a bit ‘heavy’, darker and greasier at the scalp on Tuesday, which means that I most likely will do a pony tail to hide the greasiness. On Wednesday morning I have to wash my hair again, unless I want to look like a hobo who hasn’t washed her hair in a year…

If I wash my hair every day to avoid the 2nd day hair greasiness, my hair will simply start to go greasy on day one, so this is not a solution. If I try the good ol’ advice of not washing my hair for a week (or more) so my hair should “get used to not being washed so often” and thereby “decrease the production of sebum/grease”, I just end up looking like a hobo for the time that I don’t wash my hair, and my hair will go back to normal after that (I tried it a couple of times now).

As you can hear, the greasy hair annoys me. If I’m on a festival or are travelling, I’m very dependant on being able to wash my hair often, which has seemed to be not-so-easy on the go. On the other hand, there’s some great dry shampoos to help me out, but let’s face it; I can’t live on dry shampoo my whole life, and the effect is not 100% like freshly washed hair.

But back to the Sebum Balance Shampoo: It smells nice, I only have to use it once (sometimes I have to apply shampoo twice when washing my hair, to make sure it’s cleaned). Further, the Sebum Balance Shampoo makes my hair feel very soft, tameable and  light.

For the balancing part: it doesn’t work wonders regulating my oily scalp,. It’s a nice shampoo, but there’s only a small difference to notice on how greasy my hair becomes. However, in this product you get a fine, professional shampoo, which has a fair price.
