The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel Review

Pros:

A bottle lasts for ages.

Cons:

The price.

More:

This is by far the best grapefruit shower gel I have ever used (this is the worst one). I have an unhealthy obsession with grapefruit and tend to irrationally purchase anything that promises a hint of this healthy fruit, in it (did you know that intakte of grapefruit interacts with a long list of medication btw – few people know this – if you want to read more check out this site ). This time I was not disappointed. First and foremost my bottle (250 ml) lasted for ages, since you only need a tiny amount per shower and the shower gel lathers really well. Secondly the smell of grapefruit lingers on my skin and in the bathroom for ages and thirdly, my skin is not dried out after use. The downside of this shower gel is that it‘s a bit expensive and that The Body Shop only put the bigger bottles on sale each season (and not the smallest sizes which are the most convenient, unless you plan on living in a pink grapefruit cloud for a shower for a few years..).

Review of Kiehl’s Grapefruit Bath & Shower Liquid Body Cleanser

Pros:

Smells fresh of citrus.

Cons:

This is just an average soap, no smell of grapefruit in sight and does not lather.

More:

I have an obsession for all things that smell of grapefruit, therefor I thought this soap would be a real treat. My impression of Kiehl’s as a brand is that they have good quality for a pretty high price, so I have high expectations, since paying over 20 dollars for a soap sure is a splurge.

First of all, it does not smell of grapefruit, it smells of citrus, there is a difference. It does not lather properly and therefore you use more than you actually need per shower. Sure after my shower I do not feel itchy, something I have experienced previously, but that is pretty much it. For this price you could at least expect the smell of citrus to linger on you skin for a while, and of course it doesn’t.

Review of Estee Lauder Hydra Complete Multi-Level Moisture Gel Mask

sku_851069267_1

Pros:

The alluring gel texture of this mask makes you dream of loads of hydration.

Cons:

I see no difference before and after use.

More:

Another week another mask I have wasted my money on…This one started by having me at hello: I love gels, they just trick you thinking that gel equals hydration. This mask is no different: it is a gel, and it smells a bit of melon, what is not to like? But once you use it a couple of times you realise that yes – it makes you skin soft, but you still look just as tired before and after use. There is absolutely no difference in the appearance of your skin.

Estee Lauder also promises a cooling and soothing sensation, for me the sensation was mostly sticky and disappointing.

Review of Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream

Pros:

Creamy in a great way, smells fantastic and the bottle lasts for long.

Cons:

A bit pricy for a shower cream.

More:

I still remember first time I tried this product: it was around 5 years ago and I was not a regular customer at Body Shop at that time, because it was just way too expensive (it was before they started having sales). I had gotten a mini package of this shower cream as a gift and had brought it with me to the swimming hall. And boy was I blown away – it smelled delicious, it was perfectly creamy and I simply felt like a princess walking home that night in my coconut haze.

Second time this shower gel came into my possession was 2,5  years ago, this time in a pump bottle, and guess what, I still have half of the bottle. Yes I have been cheating a bit with some other lovely shower products, but still I think it’s awesome that it’s so long-lasting because I use it a few times a week. It lasts so long because of the pump bottle, I have tried other shower gels from Body Shop in smaller sizes and you use them up in no time, because of the construction of the bottle (you basically keep getting much more than you asked for – each time).

About the shower cream itself: it doesn’t dry out my skin, it leaves a very pleasant scent in the whole bathroom after and you need only a small amount for your body. I think it smells natural, and not chemical as so many products do.

The minuses are: it leaves a discreet smell on your skin, but nothing long-lasting. Due to that it’s so creamy you have to use a pouf, otherwise it’s almost like putting cream all over your body. It doesn’t lather much.

Overall I give this shower cream only 3 stars, because even though my heart loves it, my brain understands that a shower gel costing this much shouldn’t have so many minuses.

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel Sensation Review

Pros:

I really like that its a foam instead of a regular shower gel.

Cons:

Since its a mousse bottle, its very hard to get out the precise amount, meaning that you often get more then you needed.

More:

This is a gel that turns into foam upon contact with water, I personally really like the foam, feels very luxurious. Its supposed to smell of rose and almond, I thought it smelled wonderful of roses, my mum who also tried it disagreed, and thought there were no roses to be smelt. The scent is very light and does not stay around after the shower. Since its a pretty expensive products for a shower gel/foam, you want it to last long, which is a bit hard when the mousse bottle is built so that minimal pressure makes a big amount come out – something to keep in mind. I have not observed any specific difference in my skin after using it.

L’occitane Almond Cleansing & Soothing Shower Oil Review

Pros:

You only need a small amount and it does what it promises.

Cons:

It’s in the expensive end (but it’s very good…).

More:

I’ve been using this oil for 2 years. I have tried many different shower oils, but always return to this one, this due to the good quality. It lasts for around 6 months when me and my boyfriend use it daily and the bottle is 250 ml. It makes you feel clean and makes your skin soft just like it promises, and it actually smells of almond. Also my skin doesn’t turn dry afterwards, I still use body lotion after sometimes, but it’s not really necessary. Many other oils have left my skin feeling greasy, this one doesn’t.
