Our best hair products – the complete list

It‘s no secret hair products take up a lot of space on this blog. Therefore we decided to compose a list of our all time favourite hair products:

  1. Best hair maskKiehl’s Olive Fruit Reparative hair pak – I have been using this mask for the past two years and ALWAYS return to it – actually its the only thing from Kiehl‘s I‘ve stayed faithful to. The mask makes my hair instantly (after 10 minutes) soft, easy to de-tangle and just makes it look much better. This blog is more about what you shouldn‘t buy rather then what you should buy and this mask is probably the only time I‘ve urged my readers to try something so urgently. By try I mean getting a sample of it. Read full review here.
  2. Best hair oilOrofluido hair oil – this oil is the oil of all oils, and those of you who have read a few reviews of hair products on this blog know that I always refer back to it. This oil makes my hair instantly soft and smells of heaven. And its a great budget buy – a bottle has lasted me for 2 years. Trust me I have tried a lot of oils and nothing comes close to it (yes we are talking about you Moroccan oil). See full review here.
  3. Best dry shampood:fi dry shampoo – most beauty/fashion/french bloggers refer to Klorane dry shampoo as the best thing out there. We have reviewed it (read review here) and we really really really liked it. But seriously there must be other dry shampoos out there which are just as good and keep a good level of quality..answer: hell yeah. Sure d:fi dry shampoo doesn‘t ooze of french sophistication but its good quality, the color is neutral (not traces of white in my hair yey) and its cheap. Much better than Klorane if you look at it from a price point – which I know many of you are. Read the full review here.
  4. Best shampoo and conditionerBamboo smooth anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner – this shampoo and conditioner are my favourites because they give my hair that va va voom feeling and a bottle lasts for about 6 months (which might justify the steep price). Considering frizz one of my hairs biggest enemies these bottles have been saviours. Read full review here.
  5. Best quick fixBamboo Kendi oil dry oil mist – this oil is my go when I need a quick solution – some shine and nice texture. It doesn‘t replace a hair cut and won‘t fight dry ends but It‘s a big favourite – partly again cause a bottle lasts for years and the shine adds some well-needed confidence from sad hair days. This is our list, please feel free to share your favourite hair products with us and we will do out best to feature them in the blog. Or do you disagree with some of our choices – let us know – we love all feed-back!

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Moisture Intense Oil Creme Pre-Shampoo Treatment Review

alterna-caviar-moisture-intense-oil-creme-pre-treatment

Pros:

Makes my hair much more silky.

Cons:

The price.

More:

My beauty conclusion of 2016 is that my hair has definitely been the part of my body which I have been investing on most – beauty wise (brain wins in the category everything else – at least I like to think so while reading that stupid gossip mag..). This hair treatment is used pre-shampoo to give the shampoo and conditioner the chance of an “optimal” performance and its promised that this treatment will “leave your strands soft and smooth”. Verdict: I can certainly feel a difference in my hair becoming much more silky after 10 minutes of use, and it also makes my hair more smooth after wash. Minus – expensive product and I think I still prefer my oils to this pre-hair treatment if I have to choose one smoothness booster for my hair.

JOICO CURL CRÈME WASH SULFATE-FREE CO+WASH Review

Pros:

Using this gave me some nicely defined curls.

Cons:

My split ends still needed some oil.

More

This is a whole new type of hair product for me. This is both a mask and a leave-in treatment which has different directions of use depending on what hair type you have. You use it to get nice curls and make all that frizz vanish. It basically promises that your curls will become perfect. Verdict: I used it as a hair mask, and not as a leave-in product (which is an option if you have thick hair), my curls have been perfect since I started to use it, and they have stayed that way for about 5 days straight – yes I wash my hair every fifth day. My hair feels soft, but my split ends are not happy and still require a lot of oil. The package is huge and will last me for about 8 months.

HH Simonsen Boss Blow Dryer Review

Pros:

My hair looks very nice after use aka it actually looks like I have a hairdo.

Cons:

This blow dryer weight a lot, so you can‘t really bring it with you anywhere.

More:

I figured since I spend soo much money on hair products, maybe I should also blow dry my hair in style (aka not use a hair drier that was born the same year as I was). Anyways, I usually try to avoid blow-drying my hair and let it dry naturally, since I know that it‘s better for all hair – but sometimes you just don‘t have the time. This  hair drier is one of those seen in hair salons, and it does do some hair magic: I can tell after using it (and lending it to my granny – who is a stellar beauty judge) that it does make a difference – my hair looks much more “done” after using it. My grandmother has a short boob, and she too could see how her hair had a much more “put together” look after this hair drier. Also it does not make my hair feel dry after use, and I really like that you can use cold air too. Minuses: the price and that it is so heavy.

Joico Moisture Recovery Leave-In Moisturizer Review

Pros:

Makes my hair very soft.

Cons:

I have to use a bit of oil to help this leave-in moisturizer.

More:

This is the second leave-in “treatment” I have tried ever (review of the first here) – yes I know disappointing for a beauty blogger, but I have kind of been getting by using my oils and shine sprays. So what new qualities does this leave-in moisturizer bring to the (hair) table? Well it makes my hair very soft, and adds some shine, and also it helps my split ends a bit. And it doesn‘t weight my hair down (no matter how much I spray in my hair). Unfortunately though the split ends still need a bit of help, and I cheat with some oil after using this one. Overall verdict is that I like this treatment, and that it‘s worth the money since the bottle is huge, though if your ends are supersplit and sad you might need some extra help.

ALTERNA CAVIAR REPAIR MICRO-BEAD FILL & FIX TREATMENT MASQUE REVIEW

Pros:

Makes my hair very soft.

Cons:

The price (is pretty crazy).

More:

This mask has a very creamy texture, it is almost like putting pudding in your hair (but in a nice comfortable way – not the weird “I like food on my body” way). Using it, is supposed to give one more shiny and soft hair, which it does. You are supposed to leave it on for 3 minutes, and sometimes I stretch it to 10, but usually the result is pretty much the same. It doesn‘t help your hair to gain volume or a certain (un-troll-like) shape, and if your ends are very dry you will need some extra oil or leave-in love, therefore it is not fully worth its price.

Orofluido Asia Zen Control Mask Review

Pros:

Makes my hair shiny and silky.

Cons:

Very strong smell.

More:

First time I used this mask it gave me a feeling of “wowowow”, I could really feel how my hair turned more shiny and silky. It is a myth that your hair gets used to products, and that you therefore should change your routines (hair is dead materia it cant get used to anything), but still I felt that the “wowowow” effect wore off after a couple of weeks of using this mask. Also I was a bit turned off when my dance partner (I am a fierce salsa dancer) commented on my hair smelling very strong. Despite this I still think it is a good budget alternative since it lasts for long and makes a difference.
